Default Is there an APP for THT?

Just curious. Would make my life easier I hate signing on to here on my phone everything is so small and when I zoom in its too big. It makes it hard for me to respond to people. I searched my phone but no THT app. wondering if its called something else.

I really like tht on my iPhone. You know double-tapping auto zooms to a table area (like thread titles) right?

Sitting on a plane right now in fact.

It's still a pain in the ass to do it that way thou..lol
Tapatalk is a nice app in that if you use other forums, it brings them all together. You can get alerts and it's a lot easier to message and post.

How do we get the Mods to enable Tapatalk? It sure makes it a lot easer to post on forums, especially posting pics is much simpler.

Well, this is from the Mod,

I checked with our tech folks to see if there were any plans to offer the mobile app "tapatalk" and was told that Internet Brands has not yet authorized the installation of same on any of their sites. It will probably happen, but we don't know how soon
.

Apparently they are dealing with a lot of spammers.. which is the tech's focus now. and Maybe soon after they may work on it...

was there any news on if we got an APP for THT? would make my life easier! hehe.

To go on here on my Andriod is alright but its not like the facebook app I have. Ithink that it would make it easier to do it that way.

we are having a serious battle with spammers as their technology improves. We've been getting hammered with Nike and Handbag spam, while also dealing with hundreds of bogus members signing up from known spam sites. As such, I suspect the current goal is protecting the site and things like mobile apps will follow when things calm down.

This is apparently the reason, which kinda makes sense. But this app would make it soo much better. hopefully soon the hosting company will allow it.

I'm a programmer and could create an app for a phone, but the question is would you guys *pay* for it and would THT allow me to pull the data the way I'd need to pull it.

I know most people think building these applications are easy but let me tell you they are a time consuming sink hole (pretty much like owning a boat). A developer could easily spend 3+ months doing nothing but building a mobile app (yes they take that long and longer).

Let's say I built an app, how much would you pay for it? $.99? $2.99? $9.99? $19.99? $99?

One has to remember that once they buy an app, that's it, they own it and that's all the money an app builder like me would get. And I'd only get 70% of the money (because Apple and Microsoft get 30% from the app stores). Then I have to file taxes on 70% of my earnings which as you know means I'd be left with $.42 roughly for every dollar they spend.

If it took just 3 months to build the app I'd have to sell 200,000+ copies of it at $2.99 just to cover the billable hours I spent building it.

Ok, I just talked myself out of it, there aren't 200,000 THT subscribers.

Well, I bought the tapatalk app for like 1.99 I think. I also know some programing, and I do know how much work it is.especially for develing for say 3platforms I would probably buy it, but you may be better off making an add version (free) and then a paid version

I'd like to see tapatalk for THT as well. I use it for pilotsofamerica.com and it works flawlessly. Dissapointed THT was not on there.

This issue has been raised many times with IB, and let me put it bluntly - you won't be seeing a Tapatalk app for THT in the near or mid future. There is a branding/content issue with them as they are a third party.

Also, from the repsonses I have recieved from IB, the mobile segment doesn't seem to be much of a priority to them which is absolutely mind numbing to me.

Personally, I think IB should look at acquiring Tapatalk to further integrate them through the value chain, but heck, what do I know.

Let me ask you this in your example earlier. Your development costs are relatively fixed, correct - say 90-95% fixed cost base. So is your app development scalable, or relatively scalable to all the sites owned by IB?

In other words, does it matter development wise (relatively speaking) if you are building an app for 1 or 100 sites (assuming they all run the same backbone software)?

If your development is scalable, then the returns to you are highly leveraged in your favor, i.e. your incremental margin is through the roof after break even point.

If all 100 are *exactly* the same and exactly being the keyword and have the same backend then it isn't that hard.

I see this site is running VBulletin and VBulletin has a mobile offering. Just sayin', it is basically already done.

https://www.vbulletin.com/index.php?do=mobile

Scaling out to 100 sites gets my attention if I can write it once and then create 100 different apps to serve each site separately. Don't know why IB isn't doing that, or maybe they already are.
