Default Jet Ski??

I know alot of guys here don't care for them. That being said anyone have any knowledge of the Kawasaki Ski's? I had a Yamaha yrs ago and loved it. Have been looking for a nice used Yamaha for a bit w/out much luck. Ran up on a 2009 Kawasaki 260X w/22hrs, and 3yrs remaing warranty. Original owner. Hes asking 8k. Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch..

I've been looking for new and used ones also. A good used one is hard to come by and all of the dealers are crooks. The kawasaki you mentioned looks like a good price, but i don't know anything about them

I agree, the few reviews I've read say its a good ski. Only downfall is its a mighty thirsty jet ski.

Yeh, the owner said a long day on the water he can burn a tank out. Almost 21 gallons. Guess its not too bad as I'd probably never do more than 3hrs a day. Was really hoping someone here had some knowledge on the quality of the ski. I've always believed yamaha was the most reliable ski on the water.

Thanks Cedar, read it already, I believe it was a review by a guy that reports for personalwatercraft. He seemed to know what he was talking about, but a review from someone that has owned one is what would be a more reliable review in my opinion. Thank you for your post.

I'm a jet ski fanatic. 260s, even with their high horsepower rating are not what they are cracked up to be. A Yamaha SHO running 5.5PSI will blow a 260X running 14.7PSI out of the water. The Kawasaki is belt driven, the worst possible design for a jet ski. They keep blowing belts constantly. They have been replaced by the 300X model for this year which is much more powerful. 22 hours is nothing and that may be for a reason. I have 110 on a 2008 Yamaha SHO and it pulls harder, handles better and will destroy a 260x. Not to mention it will sip fuel compared to the Kawasaki.

Choose Yamaha, don't make a mistake. You can PM me if you wan't more information.

Our only experience is with a 2003 Yamaha 1200 XLT we bought new. Only put about 100 hours on it and a new battery every year (why is that!!). It's been great.

Get a standup. You'll burn half (at least) the gas and have twice as much fun.

Thanks fellows, I was warned about the belt. I'm going to leave it alone.
