Default Kentucky Derby - Pick Em

My friends father handicaps the races to death - then after much study he "always" picks the favorite ... Guy is 87 so we humor him with a few bets.....

Whats your pick for the race.....

I ma not a race track or sports gambler. I have a question... in parimutual betting. If you buy a ticket an hour ahead and the odds are 3:1 and then at post time they are 2:1 What do you collect if you win ? 2:1? If so - if the odds change drastically in- between can you change?

cleverly named horse...owner made fortune starting and selling Vitamin Water...connections had to scratch Uncle Mo, which is their stronger horse. Maybe a little horse for horse bet? I'll take "Dialed In"

I only like to bet on football, friendly type wagers as we have done in the past.

Now, if you want to bet that there won't be a buncha funny hats at the racetrack tomorrow, I'll take some of that action

Never been to a track,do my stuff online. I have Stay Thirsty at +2050 now, if that changes I still have it at 2050. Books cant change a wager once placed. What your saying is if I put a buck @ 2050 and it goes to +1800,I have to take the 1800??

Thats correct.... Its the final odds at post time.... U have a bet on that horse to win -

In the Book when u bet on sports its as u say - u buy the odds at the time u place the bet...

All this talk is making me want to go to Vegas

Parimutuel betting means that you don't lock in any odds.

You are sharing in the popularity, or not, of the horse that you bet on. If more people place bets on that horse, the odds narrow.
