Ny-Quil

Followed by a shot of booze

The shot need only be 1/2 ounce or so. I prefer half the bottle, but then again, I'm not normal.

Claritin-D 24hr...I suspect you may be suffering from allergies. It helps me significantly.

Hard to beat the prescription Tussionex. Best prescribed cough medicine I've used.
Can make you somewhat drousy if you take too much.

I chain smoke a pack or two of unfiltered Camels. That blend of turkish tobacco improves my coughing ability tremendously.

Lots of fluids maybe some hard candies and plain Guaifenesen Syrup (all major barand shave it like pertussen and generics if it gets dry or in your lungs. Most cough syrup without codine is no better than the above.

Allergies suck.

Curious if you take any blood pressure meds like Lisinopril?? After a while of taking it I visited a ENT doc, not the doc that prescribed Lisinopril, and I told them I had a gagging cough all the time. The nurse said its the lisinopril. The doc came in and confirmed it. I quit taking it and the cough went away immediately. Go figure why they put people on these meds.

Another thing that may help is squirt some Ayr or Ocean spray solution up your nose every so often during the day. Its basically salt water and helps clear you nose of the drainage which is probably causing the cough. Good luck.
