Default Best Onstar Renewal?

My Onstar initial subscription ends June 14, and Onstar wants $19/mo for the basic service and $29/mo for the "Directions & Connections" plan for the renewal. Does anybody know of a better deal out there? I was able to get my lifetime Sirius subscription for around $6.50/mo. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have had great experiences with onstar. Just be courteous with whom ever you speak to. I have been given free minutes, free months of services, etc. They are generally willing to work with you on anything you have a question about.

Dropped them last year, but they keep e-mailing new offers. Last one was $16.95 a month with 6 months free service....

I'm leaning towards just dropping it. Even $150 a year, for what? I can check my own tires & oil, I still havn't used the 60 mins of cell time yet after 4.5 mos, and I already have a Garmin. Am I missing something? I have AAA premium membership with trailer protection. I think you can get suckered in by the "protection" and you end up just keeping Onstar afloat.

I think the airbag monitoring is worth the price alone, seconds count don't they dispatch local police and ambulance automatically when they receive the signal airbags have been deployed?

I can only tell you what our customers say. The Air bag deployment alone is worth what OnStar is capable. The last one the car was in a huge accident. Onstar came one with in moments to check if everything was allright. Dispatched the police and ambulance for the customer. I like the updates on the tire pressure and service history that comes with the subscription.

I cancelled mine last month after noticing that they had increased my monthly cc hit to $30 per mo. When I called them and asked why they said because I had not called to confirm another year. BS.

Called to ask for a lower rate the other day. They gave me my service free for 6 months and lowered the rate to 19.00 for the safe and sound package and turn by turn nav. after my 6 month trial period is over.
