Default Rope lighting for pool fence???

I'm looking for some rope lighting to install under the handrail of the fence around my pool. Total length of the fence is 210 feet. That dimension is broken once by a gate, so I could use shorter rolls if i had to.

I've looked around online a little... but it's left me more confused than anything else. This site seems to have the most stuff...

http://www.1000bulbs.com/category/rope-light/

They show coils of incandescent lights that are dimmable, but I couldn't find any of the controlers that dimmed... all of them have chasing functions. Definately not interested in chasing lights... just want them to dim. I'm assuming that if i use 120v lights, I could just use a standard dimmer switch, and if I used low voltage lights, I'd need a transformer and a low voltage dimmer switch.

Anyway, looking for advice on what any you may have done. Also wondering if what you have has held up over time.

Thanks,
Tim

I bought the cheap rope lights from HD or Lowes and attached them together and strapped them up with zip ties. They work great and this will be my 4th season with the same lights. I was concerned about the bugs and not being enough light but have not had any issues with either.
