Default Gas Spouts?!

Is it just me or has everyone else noticed that the spouts on 1, 2.5 and 5 gallon gas jugs turned to crap in the last few years. These things are about worthless! The plastic accordion shaped ones don't last and the new technology "environmentally safe" ones require a Masters Degree and fair amount of luck to assure they stay in the "on" position!

The worst part is that is darned near impossible to pour without spilling, because the spouts are so rigid we can't flex them into the receiving container/tank. My lawn mower, garden tractor and power tools all end up with gas all over them. Of course, it doesn't help that the gaskets are "made in china" and leak too - resulting in gas running down the outside of the container....

Whatever happened to the metal gas can and rubber hose???? ;?

More idiocy my our government.

They like to believe these stupid laws are good for us, but in reality, they suck.

I found one, "No Spill" , www.nospill.com
Has a metered flow button and decent seal.
Small independent hardware stores will have them.
Got 3 and haven't spilled a bit since. 1 1/4, 2 1/2, 5 gallon.
But, be sure to release pressure before you invert the can to pour,
I do sell them in the Bahamas but otherwise not affiliated.
Even fillling a chainsaw or weedeater is a breeze.

My "no-spill" spouts spill more gas in one use than I ever did with my old ones.

Replacement spouts

I'm so glad I stocked up on these excellent Wedco 6 gallon gas cans before they became "outlawed".

I take the entire cap-off, use a funnel and get the 6 gallons dumped fast, almost NASCAR/F1-style into the boat.

All the new cans with no vent hole just scuk.

I have some of those same Wedco cans. I can get over 6.5 gallons in them, easily.

Great cans. I'd pay a pretty penny to get a hold of some.

When gas cans are "outlawed", only outlaws will have them.

Does anyone think the new jerry cans are so usless because the oil companies and/ or the government want us to spill gas/ fuel so we have to buy more????

The new no-spill spouts work great for filling a car or boat tank, but they SUCK for filling any small tank like a mower or generator. The new design is specifically set so it will cause spills in anything other than a car or boat.
