Default When is the last time you had a week off?

Ya know I got to thinking today about the last time I had a week off. Since April 2005, the longest I have been from work was from Thursday thru Monday. I have had the typical 4 day weekends for Xmas and Thanksgiving but I havent had a full week in 6 years.

Just curious about the rest of you? Do yall take full weeks or do you "save" vacation?

I haven't taken a weeks vacation in 7 years but 3 years ago I got my knee scoped and was out a month and last year I was out another month with a hernia operation, does that count?

I always enjoyed taking 2-3 weeks off consecutively when I worked and boating or resort vacations always filled in the time.

Work.......work? What is that?

Retirement is bliss.

I take a week a year, this year I plan to take 2 weeks.

I find that after about 6 months of work I need a breather and I actually perform much better when I get back.

I haven't had a true vacation in over 12 years. I answer my cell phone 24/7 because there is no one else to do the work for me. The corporate office just says "it's part of your job". Pretty tough never getting a break.

Take the week between Christmas & New Years off (we close the company down anyway) and then take a family vacation for one week in the summer (usually the week before school starts back up for the kids).

Christmas before last got tired of it all. The kid was retired........
First month you could not pay me enough to go back to work...
Second month I'd finished up all the unfinished projects and run out of things to do, cold and nothing to do during the week. .
Third month the GF was ready to divorce me and that is the best way to put it. Divorce... ,
Never been so unhappy in my life.
Call them mini vacations but stay out three weeks, one two day brake in the middle then take 4.5 days off in a row. Enough time to take a two or three day fishing road trip, car shows, and get things done around the yard. Mini vacations have taken the place of the curses but even when I took one every year, after 4/5 days I was ready to get home and back to work. My bad for not realizing that Christmas before last. We're never to old to learn more about ourselves. ...
Really do enjoy the job........

I took 2 weeks off this past summer to attend the National Boy Scout Jamboree. I usually just take long weekends or Wednesdays off in a typical year.

Hmmm, a weeks vacation; isn't that's like 7 days off in a row doing absolutely nothing? What the hell is a weeks vacation anyways? Sounds interesting though, sounds like I should look into buying some. Can I buy a few and use them back to back?

I usually take 5-7 weeks straight beginning the last week of Jan to head south away from the cold, and usually take a week either hunting in fall or for a fishing trip somewhere different......I've been at the same job for almost 30 years......

Get a a week off in June/July for vacation and other than that I do not seem to get much time off.

Damn this being self-employed sometimes

Bro in law works for USPS and gets 6 freaking weeks a year PLUS sick days, I work my sick days

Starting next month though I do take Fridays off until January

When I was working 6 weeks vacation, 1 week personal days and 1 week of sick days that I could use for a vacation. I have been on a permanent vacation since February 2008 and don't miss it
