Currently using Mozilla as my browser...this redirect has been popping up a lot lately...takes me to sites that are absolutely no help at all...can this feature be disabled? Thanks

I'd like to know also. I find that if I copy the address and post it in the address bar at the top it goes to the site I want. Mike

This article describes what to do when searches from Firefox don't go to the expected site(s). For example, Google searches may redirect to a page with a lot of advertising or using a different search engine.

There are two possible causes for this depending on the exact symptom:

* If only searches from the Location bar are affected, this is likely caused by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and/or DNS (Domain Name System) server redirecting invalid requests, or a changed keyword.URL preference setting.
* If all searches are redirected (including searches from the search engine's page itself and searches from the Search bar) this is likely the result of malicious software installed on your computer.
Searches are redirected to another site

Crab,
I read your link. I only wish it was in English. Mine does it when I have sone a google search and I click on one of the results listed. If I get redirected I go back and copy the link and paste it in the bar at the top and it goes to the website I want.

You,ve got Malware. It will only get worse.
There are a couple of sites where you can attempt to clean it.
Malwarebytes may help.
I ended up re-imaging my laptop

They will walk you through getting rid of viruses or malware, which is what you have.

Good luck,

My computer had a redirect virus a year ago, what got rid of it was the "HitmanPro 3.5" program.
