Default Boat Lifts?????

I am considering installing a PWC 5000 Lbs. Boat Lift (Hi-Tide) to support a 20' CC. The reason I am considering this is permitting limitations due to width of waterway (cant get a 4 post lift approved). My question is directed to anyone who may have experience with them. They are single pile mounted which seams suspect for any long term solution. Am I just being overly concerned or is it feasible to have a 3000Lbs on a single pile for the next 10 years+ w/o the pile leaning etc... Any other drawbacks or reasons I should reconsider?

Any input on lifts in general will be much appreciated!

While you are putting in a
lift, get one with the capacity
to hold your NEXT boat!

mronzo is right. I had two lifts put in, for the 18 Whaler, I have a 12,000lb lift, it's only a 2800lb boat but I am having a larger boat built.

I have a 1500lb PWC lift for the 15 Whaler, It's a single pole lift. I see the piling leaning slightly and the boat is only 900lbs.
