Yes...she DID
Her voice was a national treasure and what happened to her really sucks. Not that I feel sorry for her...

Did I miss something or listen to the wrong clip?
I had to go to youtube to hear it, wouldn't open for me on here.
What happened to her?
Sorry but, I'm not up on entertainment news...

Or maybe I'm just used to shit like Roseanne, so Whitney sounded so much better?

You think you would know the lyrics to the national anthem of your own country after living there for 30 years and scoring a super bowl gig to sing it. She should be truly embarrassed!

When they announced that woman was going to sing the national anthem. I flipped the channel over to pawn stars on discovery. My wife asked why, told her that I refused to watch that $"#%€ ruin it. Wife says how you know she is going to f it up. Told her that they weren't no way that some one who ain't smart enough to keep her pants could do it right. Flipped back after I was sure it was over. This morning the news confirmed my belief.

At least she didn't grab her crotch and spit when she finished?

Nerves can get to us all at times. I imagine she's mortified this morning?

What about the half-time show? We're in our 60s and the Peas doing all that techno crap didn't do a thing to amaze or impress us. What about you young guys, was that a great singing performance to another generation?
Replies in the OTHER thread.

I didn't hear her butcher because i muted it soon after she started. What a f-in disgrace. She evidently had problems before the show and was having a "diva" moment. F-her. Without digital enhancement none of them can sing.

Time to remove the celebrity performers from it. It should be a US military singer or chorus group instead. See the ovation ssgt Sal Guinta got? Awesome. That's how the anthem should make you feel.

Kone, your idea is the perfect answer. It counters performers that feel it's beneath them to play follow the leader with a song's rendition (and they couldn't ever top Houston, anyway).

I agree that a uniformed chorus singing that song would get the whole country singing along.

They all try to change it yet the performances you remeber the most of the national anthem are the ones where the person nailed it just as it was written. Examples - Whitney Houston, Carrie Underwood

She has some major problems going on in her personal life...divorce, and many close friends have been trying to get her in to rehab. That isn't anything new for the run-of-the-mill celebrity lately, though. FOX should have considered this before booking her for the SB.

I do not believe FOX books the talent for the activity's on the field. That over made up skank and the screaming clad assholes at half time kept me busy filling my glass.
