Default Droid X question

I know there are several of you here. I have a question,. Both my truck ( 2010 GMC ) and my boat stereos have usb ports and are mp3 compatible.
My droid x has a usb/power cord. I have an app called music wizard on the phone that lets me download music to the phone but both stereos don't recognize the usb connection or format. I know it is connected because my phone will also charge off the one in the truck. Any ideas how to make the music play through the usb cord?

I dont think that it is a tweo way connection. My BB has a USB charging port also but you cant feed any type of data off of it. You have to use the headset and possibly the dock like an Ipod. I may be wrong but I dont think so

Hmmmmmm... great question. It's definitely a two way connection. I transfer data back and forth via pc regularly. Sounds like you need an app.

I don't think that is possible with the X. I don't think the usb is mapped for that. Try the suggestions in this thread: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dro...tooth-usb.html

Good luck.

What about un-mounting the sd card prior to plugging in usb? That just might work.

There is some info. in the owners manual. It should be possible but the folder structure may be the problem. Here is a short copy of one of the sections. I've done it with a 16GB memory stick to the GM radio's and haven't had a problem.

<paste>

USB Supported File and Folder Structure

The radio supports:

• Up to 700 folders.
• Up to 8 folders in depth.
• Up to 65,535 files.
• Folder and file names up to 64 bytes.
• Files with an .mp3 or .wma file extension.
• AAC files stored on an iPod.
• FAT16
• FAT32

might try removing the SD card to see if that makes a difference. The boat stereo has a usb channel and says something to the effect of format not recognized. Bothe the boat and truck have the little hole for an mp3 cord that i can plug from phone to head unit and it plays the music I just thought the sound might be clearer through the usb and my phone would stay charged the whole time as well

Run a 3.5mm cable and you'll be happy. My radio has usb input and I can't get my droid to play through it.
