Default Cereality Franchise, Ever hear of them?

I saw an infomercial about their business opportunity the other night and it caught my eye.

Has anyone here ever been to one?

It seems to be a knock-off of the (once again) popular self-serve yogurt shops that have sprung up all over town.

I like the idea of the employee's wearing pajamas! Do you think having some 20 year old hotties working behind the counter wearing teddy's from Victoria's Secret might increase the walk-in traffic???

They are selling cereal that you can buy at a store? I think it is great. They said who would ever buy bottled water? But if was looking at a franchise Anytime Fitness seems to be pretty plug and play.

Call me crazy, but cereal is something I eat at home, not something I go out for. According to their website, they only have 4 locations currently and are not accepting franchisees, so moot point anyway.

Seems more novelty than anything to me.

Yeah, I don't understand why they are advertising the franchise opportunity when their website says that they are not accepting applications???

Some of their press articles from back in '04 and '05 stated that they were opening up 12 locations per year. Either they did but they closed down or they never did to begin with. Four locations and it appears that three of them are with Stone Cold ice cream shops (their other franchise opportunity).

If you are looking for a business opportunity, look into planet fitness.

Do research on the Kahala stock and....I can't understand why there's so little information, including no P&L since 2001.

They own about 12 franchise restaurants including Blimpies...but something isn't kosher.

Cold Stones are folding left and right! If your looking at a franchise, make sure they been in business at least 30 years. If your into treats, try Dairy Queen!

Yummy!!!

We have two DQ's nearby. They are both in a location with another franchise.

Actually, we are seeing more and more of that. Most of the KFC's around here have remodeled and added an A&W location inside as well.

I know of two Blimpie's that have closed down recently. A few Quizno's too...

Thanks for the tips guys! I have been looking for something to keep my wife busy and hopefully make some money at as well. I will be retiring from my second LEO career in a few years and I want to be able to have another stream of income above and beyond my two retirements and rental units.

Plus, something to keep the kids busy as well!

Blimpies and Quiznos? I dont know about everyone else but I know that when I am looking for a subshop nowdays I go to the small owner operated non franchise places because the food is always better and the choices are better. Thats just me. I realize you dont have the franchise advertising and marketing behind you but you pay alot of money upfront and anually for that and sometimes the money is better spent by you. You also get to keep everything you earn and not pay out to another company. JMO

^^^^^^

That is true!

I've only tried Blimpies twice. I didn't tempt strike three...

Quizno's was better, but too expensive.

Our 25+ year favorite sub shop is Togo's. They only have a handful of them here in the Bay Area, but they are tough to beat!

My favorite sub shop of all time was around during my teens and 20's. It was a one location place in San Leandro. Sadly, when the owner passed away, so did the business...

I can't tell you how many of their Poor-Boys I ate while enjoying the view from my favorite picnic bench at the San Leandro Marina!
