Well, as Police Chief Martin Brody said in jaws: I think you need a bigger boat....

30 to 40 knots? Seas 8 to 11? Look at the bright side. You can just turn the engines off and can troll all day without burning any fuel.

Yah those salties don't really know how ruff we really do get it. The worst part of our waters is the the crests aren't 50-100-200' apart either - try 10-15'.

True, but you don't have to be in hurry to wash the salt off as soon as you get in.....

Darn . . . 7 to 11 foot waves . . . a 23 ft CC with twin 150s will cut through those waves like butter . . . and at 45 mph with no pounding . . . yeah right

Trolling will be easy, no need to jig your lines, the waves will do it for you . . . through a really big 7 to 11 foot sweep . . . yeah right

Thats the Great lakes for you . . . real slop . . . real steep . . . and usually confused seas . . . but the weather will get better

Hip waders . . . hell no . . . a wet suit might be more appropriate

See now it's not a bad day with what Shorty is talking about.......you know not to go out in that stuff. The bad days are when you are out on the water without a breeze and the water is flat, sun shinning and not a cloud in the sky. Then all of a sudden you are hit with a micro burst. Every resource you have available to you for checking the weather says it is going to be a perfect day and it is, until BANG that micro burst hits you with 8-20'ers that have no direction and are closer together then your boat is long. Horizontal rains that comes at you from all directions and have the power to blow out the windows in your boat. Then there's the thunder and lighting that is beating on top of your head like a 6 x 6. Are you having fun at that moment, HELL NO you're clinging to life it self praying the boat doesn't roll over. Then as out of the blue it came, it is gone....not a cloud in the sky.....as if it never happened.

A lot of boats go down in micro burst on the Great Lakes every year along with loss of life. I've experienced micro bursts from 7 minutes to 18 minutes long, they are nothing short of hell raining down on you.
