Default ATT U-Verse Question

Can anyone comment on their ATT U-Verse service? I'm growing tired of Comcast and want to explore an alternative cable/internet provider. I'm located in Palm Beach County, Florida. Thank you.

I've been waiting for U-verse for over 4 years now. Every time I call they say with-in 6 months, yeah right. I'm going for Xfinity after the first of the year.

Xfinity is the same as Comcast.
Just changing the name because of all the poor service as Comcast.
Been with DTV for 15 years, no issues if the dish is aligned CORRECTLY.
Don't have all those BS county taxes, fees, and other BS that add up.

AT&T Uverse is fine.

The coax connection from the main box to the set top boxes is digital data, not RF QAM signal, so the integrity of the coax needs to be good. Junctions are bad, loose junctions are no go, splitters are no go.

The best is RG6 quad shield as home runs. The cheap single shield is junk and might fail the setup test for signal quality. Triple shield is okay.

Mine has been fine for almost a year w/o problems.

Yeah I know, I've already got Comcast and They have had their moments but all and all not to bad so I figure I might as well up grade and get their puter service also. I just have to chk and see how far down from the nearest booster we are becuase I heard that makes a big differnce on puter access speed.

We've had U-Verse for 2 years now. Our neighborhood was one of the first to get it in Atlanta.

PROS: Tons of channels..over 140 HD...its never out. Internet is great. Call tech support and speak to someone who is polite, knows what they are doing, and fixes the problem the first time. Plenty of promos right now...I saw one for $300 back the other day.

CONS: Billing is a mess. Rapid growth has meant some issues with missed installation appointments (the installer never showed)...not any cheaper than Cable or Satellite once the promos expire.

All in all we are happy....they were far better than Comcast ever was.

Comcast sucks! We have had it for 1 year, and we have had 11 service calls, basically every month. they have replaced:
the line to the house,
the line down the street
numerous dvr's
just last week the actual phone cable modem

We just got uverse, and I am switching, fiber to the house.

Fiber to the house? I have Uverse and like it, but it's fiber to node. Did they pull it to your house?

Fibre to house or node. What is the difference? I am considering U-verse as well and would like to be a bit more informed if at all possible.

Thanks

They pull fiber to your neighborhood junction box. Then it's on your copper phone lines to the house. They would be digging up all the neighbors yards if they brought fiber to your house.

You do NOT have a true fiber connection unless they take it all the way to the port on the back of your computer.
There were two lines coming to my house (from previous owner).
One line went bad and they swapped to the other one.
Then that line went bad and they SWAPPED AGAIN!
I told them both lines were bad.
After they left, I cut one line down and cout it too short to make it to my house and dropped it at the pole.
Told them I still had a problem (ground fault you could hear).
They came out and put in a NEW house drop.
Lazy-azz ph company installers!
Won't do anything unless they don't have an option.
Now FIOS works better than DSL.

Have had it for 4 months in Pompano Beach. So far so good. There have been some times when signal will drop out for a minute or so. Has only happened a handful of times though.

I bundled the internet with the U200 and HD service. Got $350 in Visa gift cards after keeping service for 45 days. No contract either. Spent the gift cards on gas for the boat....
