Default Anybody know anything about Ruger Mini 30s?

do they make them with a stainless barrel and wood stock? Can't seem to find that combination. All the SS ones I see have synthetic stocks.

I do not believe they do...or at least not any more. You can generally find used wood stocks on ebay or other places like that. Probably be able to sell a synthetic stock for more than a wood one.

They arent offered with it new anymore. There are tons of them out there used. Why the Mini-30? Kind of an oddball caliber these days.

No, Ruger's "all weather" models are stainless and synthetic.

A nice wood stock will run you about $75.

Same caliber as the ak-47--right? Seems like the same ballistics as a 30-30. Maybe a little more range

You can buy a nice SKS for about 1/3 rd the price of the Ruger.

Something like this

Just go buy an AK 47, keep it lubed some you will be fine... Ak's are made to be abused and they will always fire... Ruger will be around 600 and Ak around 400.... I own a Ruger Mini 14 also and AK

That's MSRP. "Street" prices are "only" about $850 for that model.

I just like thr Ruger better---always have. personal preference. That won't change no matter how much better or cheaper another gun is, I just always liked that one

I remember 10-15 years ago was able to pick up a SKS for $69 in the shootgun news. I bet I had 20 in less than 2 years. Would buy one shoot it a few months and then sell it to someone for $100. But haven't had one in years cause I never like them as much as my M1 carbine.
