Default Chaulk's Mallard Seaplane video to Bimini

Flew with Chaulk's several times until that fateful day in Dec. 2005 when Flight 101 crashed after it's wing fell off over Govt. Cut in Miami.

Here is a cool video showing a landing in Bimini.

I can not imagine the maintenance with that aircraft with saltwater all over the place, including getting ingested into the engines. They must fly that thing for 1 hour and work on it for 10 hours.

Didn't they (Chalks) have a crash in Key West Harbor in the mid 90's or so?

Flew to Bimini about 5 times during the late 70's early 80's on Chalks and it was always an adventure. One time after landing in Bimini the wheels would not come down out of their housing so the pilot deployed a small one man raft and rowed out to manually deploy the wheels so that we could taxi up on-to the tarmac....pretty cool. I was sorry to see that era end....

Yes, it was just a pilot and co-pilot on the plane. While sitting in Key West harbor the plane took on a bit of water. Upon takeoff, the water flowed to the tail of the plane causing it to nose up and stall. The crash killed both on board. The cause was determined to be the water issue mentioned and the failure of the bilge pump!
