Default Am I only person that uses CASH anymore

I guess my age is catching up with me but I am one of those people that keeps some cash in my pocket and most every time I make a lot of purchases I pay with cash. I am not big on debit cards, Admiral uses one, but I do write checks when I do not have enough cash with me.

I get a little impatient when some guy has to pay for a drink and candy bar at the store with a debit card and it takes all the time for the transaction to go through.

Guess young folks will not have a clue what CASH is one day

I also keep a "little extra cash" at home for other emergencies and if I need something or my MONEY PIT (17 yr old daughter) needs something which is an almost daily occurrence.

Not in any illegal operation or nothing not turned in as income I just like to have cash on hand and no I am not scared of banks I just like to have good old US Currency at my disposal

hehehee, I'll call your message and raise it one notch... I have never used a debit on a CC, have no clue how to use an ATM, and don't write checks except for BIG things...and even then the admiral just gives me one at a time so I don't lose it.

I use the CC regularly, though...and the admiral keeps her own bank at the house and I know where it is!

I live off a debit card. My thought is this, If I lose my cash its gone if I lose my debit card and/or someone manages to get ahold of it I can report it stolen/lost and get my money back.

I never carry cash. If I break a $20, I might as well throw the change away because it's as good gone.

I consider the debit card a cash conservation program.

Cash is still king and will be forever. I use cards for bills, on line and in restaurants and anywhere it can be done clean and fast, cause I get 3 to 5 % back in many places, 1% in all others. I get $500 plus cash back every year - sadly, lots of folks are paying lots of interest to pay for that....

Never use cards in bars, small mom and pop stores or restaurants. I laways have lots in every car and other places for emergencies but, Cards are a travellers best friend and buyers best consumer protection. never had a debit card - well I think my ATM card is one but never used it that way - life is complicated enough.

PS - St Pauli Girl is almost as good as Becks.....

Cash keeps real America tickn, and I WOULD be afraid of banks. Everyone should have 2 or 3 credit cards so you can have good credit...One dont cut it

Default Cash is a universal language. If a business is not taking it. He is afraid

his employees will get it and he will never see it. That has to be the only reason. Infact I would like us all to deal in gold and silver.

I get anywhere from 2-5% off everything I buy. With cash i wouldn't. Why would I ever use cash then?

I put everything on CC and earn points. I get airline miles, and other travel perks, plus money back if I want it. I put about $4000 a month on my cc so it racks up bonuses pretty fast. I pay the bill off every month so I don't pay any interest. I think my Discovery cash back last year was around $1800.

The only use for cash is for buying drugs and taking the GF away for the weekend without the wife being able to trace it (No I don't do illegal drugs. The other I'm taking the 5th).

I only have cash on hand during hurricane season...the rest of the time it's a credit card racking up reward points.

I can carry a hundred bucks cash for 2-3 months. I use a CC for nearly everything and pay it off.....collecting the points for tons of crap.

My father regularly has $700-800 on him all the time, pays cash for nearly everything. At 39 I still go to lunch with him everyday and he pays. I've seen more cashiers need help breaking a $20 then the times a CC won't go through.........which is depressing insight into our youth.

Your not the only one, I used to do it when I was younger and now I started doing it again even in my business, I notice lately that many of my customers are offering cash and it's becoming a lot easier, an old timer told me after handing me a wad of cash, I'm proud of you every time you screw the gubmint, so it's been mostly cash for me for this last year.

I prefer to use cash but use my card often. I also pay it off at the end of every month.
