Default How hot can you get your wiener before it leaks

I have to cook a bunch of hot dogs and brats this weekend for a football party. I always cook them too long and they lose much of the moisture. Can I pull them from the grill before they start leaking? ;?

Cook them in beer with sliced onions and green peppers. Remove them from the pot, grill them for the char, then put them back in the pot. Serve them out of the pot with the onions and green peppers and some heated kraut. They'll stay hot and moist.

That gives "Pigs in a Blanket" a whole new meaning!!!!!

What are they called, "Bacon Turtles"?

-------------------------------------------------

Not to hijack the thread and back to the main question,

"How hot can you get your wiener before it leaks"

Depends on how she heats it up!

1) make sure your blue cross is paid up and you have your cardiologist on speed dial
2) make a hamburger patty, top with corned beef & cheddar cheese
3) weave the bacon around it like you are making a basket (like they teach you at SEC schools)
4) push the hot dogs thru the bacon to make the legs, head & tail
5) bake in the oven or on the cool side of the grill till the bacon is done
6) profit!

Hot dogs are pre-cooked and only need to be heated. Sausages can be placed in boiling water (or beer or other flavoring solution) for a few minutes to start them cooking, or fully cooked, then grilled for additional seasoning.

I was taught how to cook a hot dog when I was young and worked in food service at a sports stadium.
Use a sharp knife and slit the dog lengthwise about 3/8" deep. Them watch them in the grill, When properly done they will open up like w tulip and spread the cut. When the cut stops spreading, they are done.
Thats how I do mine.

I also use it for Brats.

Try it.
