Default Way too early

Plus a 2 hour delay for school !!! - gonna make a BIG breakfast.

Looks like a Jan. Blizzard with the 40 mph gusts. Only maybe an inch when I took this at 4 and still only maybe only 2 now but thing is this time of year it usually doesn't stay on the warmer roads but this stuff is staying there too.....Seems to be mostly elevation based though....

Back to bed first........

Actually Garrett - snowblower hasn't been commissioned but I am confident it would start easy. This stuff ended up being about 3 inches so we're just gonna drive over it - will warm up later in the week...but I went out for some exercise and the roads are actually quite nasty. Still no plows or sand.

first dusting is always exciting - this is actually a backwards storm from a back door warm front coming in from the ocean - I guess the moist warm air over the current cold mass causes it. So when it moves through it should warm up a lot.

Here's a picture from a few moments ago Bob. See, not a smudge of cloud in the sky.

I don't miss it one bit!!!

Last year we had a significant snow storm. My girlfriend is from Mobile AL and was all excited. She insisted I come out and make a snowman, she was like a little kid in that snow. Her only mistake was deciding to have a snowball fight with someone who grew up in New England, didn't want to be out there and had a pretty good fastball in his youth.

Be sure to bring in your hanging plants before freezing!

I need Prozac, or something like that bad !! Don't think I can make it through another CT winter, and I've lived here most of my life.

So have you snorted up all that white stuff yet Bob. Boy it was a nice day yesterday, easily mid 60's.

Yeah - I lived through the 3 major snow storms of the Mid-Atlantic last winter.

This morning it was 45 in Florida; should get to 75 by mid-day.

I left Mass at 0400 and drove thru that mess in the TL with summer tires heading to NYC. If I didn't pass 100 cars and trucks on their sides, roofs, or stuffed in the pucker brush I didn't pass a one. My first pucker was in Worcester at 70MPH when I found the slush.

Not a sander to be seen till after Fairfield CT. By then they should have just stayed in the yard. You can't spread salt sitting in bumper to bumper traffic.

I hear ya'. Yesterday I thought the temp was closer to freezing than it was (37f) and worried things would get ugly but it was just wet and nasty.

My machine is oiled and tuned but I can wait!

I couldn't believe it when I heard the plow go by at about 6am. Their talking back up to 60 by the end of the week. Like last year nice Black fishing weather right up till Thanksgiving, if only the wind would finally die down, it's been blowing for about a month on the weekends. The only down side when the weather is warm this late is it really screws up my hunting.

I grew up in Haddam CT, it seems there was always snow by Thanksgiving. I also remember 23 below zero around 1960 and the river freezing over so thick one year that the ice breakers couldn't get through and no barges could make it to Middletown or Hartford. So I think it really is warmer now than the "good old days", but I'll take 70 for Christmas now.

I do feel bad for mulefeathers, New Britain? Not one of the places in CT that I'd want to visit.

Just got back from a two day camping trip. I'm a little sun burnt too. Nights were in the forties with a howling wind but the days were sunny in the high sixties. We were surf fishing in shorts after breakfast around 0700! When low tide hit in the afternoon, there were a bunch of kite surfers. That looks like fun!
