Default My Life website

Was searching the internet for an old army buddy and there seems to be a hit on him at a site called mylife. They actually have information on me in it that is correct as far as what they show publicly (for not joining). well to get his email I have to join and pay 12 bucks for one month or somehthng and I can eat that but suppose he isn't a member - will he have to pay to get my message? I do not want to put him in that position. I tried the help page but no answer and there is no phone # for the site to contact to get this answer -

a- Does anyone know if he would have to pay to get the email and

b. Can you suggest other sites ? - free to both parties if possible

I tried our Cav Assoc alumni page and can only get the state he lives in and nothing on Facebook.

Thanks

Sometimes if you just type a person's name in Google search, stuff comes up. I found a long lost cousin that way and found out he was a well known free diver now.

Whatever you do, DON'T use the facebook link on that site. Just out of curiosity I went there and it asked if I had facebook, I thought it would circumvent a subscription. Hardly. I rarely go there, but this site did and plastered across my home page that 12 people were looking for me in My Life...but you could delete all their crap...

I thought exactly the same but it wouldn't connect to facebook for me. Anyway you can get ONE listing report for $1.00 which is what I did.

I got phone numbers and addresses but not much more

You could also have tried Classmates.com because they do service affiliations. The bad news is they haven't bought a new server since 1997 (IMO) and they charge for a membership fee for you to send a contact message.

And sometime you find someone with your same name that you didn't want to find.
Guy in calif same name as I going for world record being arrested.
Little note on classmates. Hope you can get out of it without any problems. They just had one of those class action law suits but I had to change my credit card account number to get away from them. Might be straight now but they charged me two years after I quite.
If you can or feel you want to pay online for anything use pay pal. They get paid once then they can't charge back through them . Gotten to the point I don't do business with anyone that does not have pay pal.

Thanks for the replies.

No luck with the my life info yet. Phone numbers no response - addresses maybe haven't written yet.

My life is a tease. After I got the # and addresses - withiin a week they say they have updated info if I want to join and pay a monthly membership. Plus I get a daily spam asking me to join or other teases. At last they had the $1. one person # and address option....which was really a link to another site - people search.

Update

What a reunion!

I talked to Larry yesterday on the phone. He runs a charter sailboat in St. Thomas. We are gonna connect there next month or in Ft. Myers in April! Wow - here is one trooper with negative PTSD! He was in a bar at 2 pm when I called. Sounds like he also got out of the rat race at 50 and is living the good life.

Got the number by lookinup his boat Nameon a VI registry site then the charter Company then they gave me his personal cell.

Larry was the only other NCO in my platoon that I could find. This is the perfect documentation I need to finally get one of the awards that my First Sergeant (our Company's REMF who acted as the paper pusher) screwed me out of in Nam (long story but I said something the drunk old fart took as criticism and this was his revenge). The damn award is ofcourse meaningless (and I do not ever wear them in parades and such) but it has become an obsession as I have gone through the VA process for some agent orange related issues and connected the dots and realized why this was not reflected in my DD214 - even though all my other combat awards and medals were there (those you see, were awarded after the SOB left country). AND - it just happens he did the same thing to Larry for a different award that I can document that he is entitled to.

A great day yesterday! VI here I come!
