Default iTunes question

There is some music I want to buy but it is only available on iTunes. I use Mp3 players but not an iPod. If I download using iTunes, can I play the music on a plain ole Mp3? I have had bad luck with most programs I tried so I just save to a folder and drag and drop into whatever device I am using.

Can I do this with iTunes? Thanks for the help.

in my experience, apple is pretty protective of where their music goes, i think you can pay more for the DRM free music, like 1.29 instead of 99 cents. I am not totally sure. I use itunes to play music, sync my ipod and ipad, but for downloading music, i use Frostwire. Check it out www.frostwire.com

Probably not. You could burn the music to a cd and then re-rip it to mp3 (and there are programs that do it directly) but that is a pain. Are you sure the music is not available on Amazon? They are the best (legal) that I have found. No DRM stuff and great quality with reasonable prices.

This is my experience with itunes. If the song is available DRM free on itunes go elsewhere.

I'll re-check but even the musicians website says it is only available through iTunes. I love Mp3 and digital music but dang, sometimes I just want to walk in a store and buy a CD to avoid hassles like this.

You can saveit to MP3 - think it's under advance- save (or convert) to MP3.

Yeah, I'd be very apprehensive of what you suggest. Take that from one that downloaded a big crap-pile of music on my old player on the computer, only to have that player bought by Rhapsody and NONE of it would play on the new version player!!! I tried converting it, but ended up just writing it all off. Luckily, I had burned most of it to CD, but it really burned my shorts to have to start over because of the difference in copyright protection!!

I downloaded it off of CDBaby and it seems to be working fine. The album is B-Liminal Shore Culture and is actually very good. Best song is "Why Do I". Go take a listen.
