Default "I can't drive 45!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Wife gets home from work this afternoon, sits down on the couch, and says, "Well, I just got a SPEEDING TICKET on the way home!". ;?

I knew she wasn't kidding when she kept going with the "details" of the crime!

She had just gotten off I-95, onto a 4-lane, divided highway, with a 45mph posted speed. Seems the young county cop (sittin' in the bushes) got her on radar at "58".

This is her FIRST one (for speeding), EVER, in about 42 years behind the wheel!

$6.00/mph over the speed limit = $78.00
"Processing Fee" = $51.00
"Local fees (per charge)" = $15.00
TOTAL = $144.00
Ability of future "reference" by ME = PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FOOTNOTE: When I bought the Mustang back in July, she mentioned she was afraid I'd be doin' a little racing and would get some tickets!?!? (The Honda was able to break the 57mph barrier quite easily!).

So, Margie, honey - this one's for YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think I see a little smile from the OP behind his post.
You didn't do the wifie thing and let her know that you (we) can not afford these kinds of tickets on our driving records did you.
Little crash and burn speech about what were you thinking.
CP still enjoying that blown roadster I gave her. Keeps saying I am not going to get a ticket but her daughter let me know,, MOM can drive the "H" out that thing.
I"m waiting..........

Classic story, reminds me of a similar situation several years ago. Wife comes home from work acting goofy, i ask her what the hell is wrong?
She starts crying and said i got a ticket. first and last one mind you. I start laughing like hell , mental note: never laugh at the warden when she is upset or pissed at you.

Not much good will become of this if you bring it up to her again. We husbands generally have a lot more skeltons in the closet that will come back to hurt us in these kinds of contests.

Good story! t500hps has it right, you have a "Get Out of Jail Free" card.

When was the last time you looked under the hood of the Accord? Maybe SHE had a CAI installed and didn't tell YOU?!? I doesn't sound like an Echo chainsaw does it?

I used to get persistently ragged by the admiral for driving too fast. (no tickets since 1997 by the way) until she bagged a 50 in a 35.

And then got nabbed by the same cop in the same place for the same thing 4 days later!! I don't hear much anymore.

He let her off the second time.

You might be able to get it reduced or thrown out using the Ole Improper equitment, My wife has used that a few times and got off, but still had to pay the fine.. It don't go on the insurance or you license...

Lawyer and court cost just cost me 550 to get 13 over reduced to improper equitment so it would not hit insurance. Sometimes its worth the cost.

Best bet is to get a $200 lawyer, he will get it reduced so no insurance points. Don't ask me how I know. This is for NC, Va. may be a little different.

First ticket in 42 years, now that's a great record!

When I first started driving my modified 67 mustang everyone at work wondered when I would get my first speeding ticket. Well, after eight years of driving it, not a single ticket of any kind even with a license plate of 1WA2RCK!

Forty five years after getting my driver's license, this year, I get my first speeding ticket while driving an SUV on a fishing trip!

I haven't got a speeding ticket in 37 years of driving. I guess my time to get one is approaching!
