I stayed at Dreams Los Cabos for our hunnymoon, the resort was extravagant and had some amazing views, we were 25 minutes out of cabo....learned our way around cabo and had some hard lessons, stay away from the timeshare "deals" my wife got reeled in on one and it wasn't what they described, but we got para sailing an offshore death trip, glass bottom boat ride, snorkeling adventure and a tour of the rocks as part of the deal.....when we didn't buy they sent us out the back door in not the best part of town...that being said we had an amazing time and am glad we went, If I was to go back it would be more of a fishing adventure with the fellas.....As a result I'm looking to spend some time in the keys with the wife, where we can get cold bud lights have a couple half day inshore and maybe get offshore one day..spend the rest of the week lounging about and doing whatever...any recommendations?? I was about to start a thread on a keys getaway but saw this one and will see what develops, I did a search on here and it seems to be Islamorada or marathon are on par with what I'm looking for, Suggestions suggested.....
Thanks
Monty

HOTEL BUENA VISTA BEACH RESORT

Telephone (800) 752-3555.
011-52 (624) 141-0033.
Fax 011-52 (624) 141-0133.
Web site: www.hotelbuenavista.com.
Number of rooms: 60.
A bit south, head east at the large sign.
Number of rooms: 60.
2 pools / 2 Jacuzzis / volleyball / tennis courts / shuffleboard / restaurant / air conditioning / bar / meeting rooms / fishing fleet.
Pool and lounging areas are somewhat removed from the beautiful beaches but not that far. If you want to be away from the hassle of Cabo San Lucas corridor this place is only 60 miles north and very quiet. The town has great places to eat and drink. They have their own fishing fleet if you want to do some fishing. The area is also known for the Wind Surfers who come at about this time of year. We have been there 5 times and find the area to be very quaint and layed back.

When you land in Cabo San Jose airport it is great to tell the condo salesmen you are going to Los Barrilles. They is nothing there for them to sell you.

Cabo titty bars and drug peddlers, not a great family vacation spot, Try Zihuatanejo / Ixtapa, 80 degree water year around.

Cabo can be a great family vacation. I stay at Pueblo Bonita Rose and fish with Dr. Pescado (Jaime) in his panga a few days, then take a day or two on a real boat with Minerva's.

Titty bars and drugs are only an issue if you want them to be. Beaches are great, resorts are great, fishing can be great, lots of restaurant options, etc.

I can't compare to islemoralda or whatever else you mentioned, as I haven't been there, but Cabo is whatever you make of it.

I've done it lotsa times and it's never not fun...

I've been there twice, where are the titty bars! Heck, if I had known about those, well...

And we had a few walk up and asking if we wanted drugs, just give em the stink eye and bow up a little and after day 2, no one asked us again.

I just read about a Bisbee Tournament contestant, getting robbed at gun point and shot on his way home from dinner in Cabo.
