Default NPR Fires Juan Williams...

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/39774756?GT1=43001

I watch Fox News--it's the only news network IMO that offers fair and balanced reporting. Juan was a guest commentator there, and I always thought he presented his thoughts and viewpoint succinctly, accurately, and without any bias.
Too bad NPR can't see the error of their ways and bring him back into the fold. Not that he'd want to after they treated him the way they did.
I'll look forward to seeing him more often on Fox News...

I think NPR should lose the remaining 16% of it's public funding. They receive 10% from the public trough, (That's us!!! via taxes) and another 6% from federal grants (us again) they must apply for.

Juan Williams gave Bill O'Reilly his opinion on Fox. He was not "reporting." His job is not as a journalist, it's as a commentator. (For both Fox, and NPR) His comment was about his feelings when seeing a Muslim, in Muslim garb, on an airplane.

I have the same feelings. Apprehension. I've very wary. Just as I'm very wary when I find myself in the ghetto parts of the south. I also have uneasy feelings when I'm in somebody else's church. There are lots of circumstances in life where people and circumstances make us ill at ease.

To fire Juan Williams for freely expressing himself as a commentator is just outrageous.

I call out anyone who supports their decision to explain why he should have received the axe.

I don't agree with Juan Williams on many issues, yet I wish there were more articulate and thoughtful people like him.

Screw NPR. I used to like their classical music. I hope their current fund drive dries completely up.

Tax dollars used to circumvent the 1st Amendment!!! Sheesch.

It's probably the best thing that could have happened to him. There are over 3400 comments on NPR's facebook page condemning the firing. The director of NPR is probably going to lose her job over this...and rightfully so. They may lose all taxpayer funding as well...that would do, for a start!

This mania about not offending Muslims has to stop. The vast majority of terrorist attacks have been committed by Muslims. We should be targeting them at airports.

Just ask yourself this simple question. Why is that when Muslims burned two American soldiers and hung their bodies on a bridge while a crowd of Muslims cheered, it caused MUCH LESS notice than when some red neck southern preacher announced a plan to burn a single Koran?

I always like to hear the other side's arguments and thoughts, even when I disagree. I disagree with Juan a whole lot, but there's probably not another lib that I respect as much as him. You can tell that he's a smart guy with convictions, he just sees the world differently than me. Anyway, NPR just showed their true stripes - as well as the stripes of modern liberalism. You either toe the party line and spout the pre-approved message, or you will be ostracized. There is no room for original thought in today's liberal movement. (Sadly, I see some of this on the right as well, although to a lesser degree and not as institutionalized.)

I just can't comment on this one... Seems we keep going backwards further and further as we hope for change if you know what I mean. This stuff is like cancer eating away making sure we keep everyone down so they depend on others. Same old @!** again...
