Default Who DOESNT own a flatscreen??

I was watching the football game on FOX on Sunday and I could never see the QB dropback. Then I realized I needed a widescreen to see it.

Am I the only person without a flatscreen???

I have one in my bedroom, but the problem is I don't have an HD signal so the picture sucks. So unless you have an HD signal the TV is worthless. I would imagine lots of people don't have them. I would need 3 new recievers in my house and don't want to deal with it.

No, Unless you count my 24 inch iMac, I don't, but I do have a 2005 34 inch Sony XBR tube HD set and see no reason to get rid of it at this time.

I thought I was the last one on earth. I finally put 1 in the BR and love it. The picture is superior and the mount makes it visible from the bed or sitting room

I HATE waste and wish I could figure out what to do with all of the perfectly good regular TV's in the house so I could replace them all

Nope, no flatscreen here. Bought a 32" JVC when we built our house 8 years ago. It will be in the living room until it croaks. Got an old Magnavox I bought before the wife and I got married 21+ years ago that works great, but no frills that's used in the spare bedroom. A 19" Phillips at least 15 y/o in our bedroom. All will stay until they don't work anymore.

Main TV in the house..........the wife's TV, is a Sony 36" flat tube Wega/Wiega/ Vega or what ever the heck they called it. Thing weighs about 250#s. HDTV was juuuust coming out when we bought it and it shows a very nice pic from the HD Dish Network receiver we have now.
Her TV in the bedroom is a little 19" Panasonic flat panel.
I don't mind that they are "her" TV's cause my woman LOOOOOOVVVVVVVES football.

He is saying to get an OTA (over the air antenna),

Signal is free and the HD picture is the best you can get. Downside is you only get broadcast TV.

I have both an OTA antenna and cable with a TIVO Premiere HD DVR. Works great. I also had a good experience with Dish's HD DVR both with satellite and OTA signals.

You really should get an HD source. Its worth it.

Still watch my 32 inch Sony Wega and a 12 inch "no name" in the kitchen.

No need to watch quarterbacks drop back. I don't watch any sports anymore. When you get old like me, you wonder why in the heck did I waste so many hours glued to the tube in my younger years. Now, I just waste the time in front of the computer!

Bought our first flat screen about 3.5 yrs ago. A 46" Sharp HD LCD for our family room of the new house. But we still had tube televisions in the rest of the house. recently, (within the past 3 months) we replaced the tube TV in our bedroom with a flat screen. Still have a couple tube TVs in the basement. My Son's use them for their video games. One of them is a 32" (or maybe it's a 36") Sony Wega like "the good life" mentioned in his post. Looking to replace those by the end of the year. Not looking forward to moving that Sony Wega. It is one heavy beast.

They don't take them. Nobody wants CRTs. There are storerooms full of them that have been donated that nobody wants. I tried to donate 2 perfectly good CRT monitors and a 27 inch CRT tv, everyone told me "No thanks".

My Sony Wega sits on a stand made for it and hasn't moved since the day the delivery guys brought it in! It's probably one of the reasons I haven't changed the carpets yet too!
