Default Ever watch a wife/girlfriend/woman wash a car? . . .

. . . knowing that they just do it willy-nilly but hold back as at least it is being cleaned?

I know with boats, many of us care, some a lot, some not at all. Same with cars/trucks. Here was my wifes method yesterday, granted, I setup the rinse bucket and wash/suds bucket.

She starts anywhere and just goes in circles, doesn't matter if any spots get missed, knowing the whole time that she could give 2 shyts about the car being clean on the outside. Meanwhile, I have my methods, the ones that many others believe in;

We start with the most "sensitive-parts" first, the ones that see the least amount of dirt which are up higher on the car/truck. Then we rinse every so often, making sure that we don't rub any dirt into any other area of the body. Rinsing and sudsing as we go, saving the bottom, dirtier parts of the car for last. Meanwhile the wife just goes up and down. I just sat with the baby and watched, keeping my mouth shut.

How do you actually get a wife to wash a car? Mine just goes to the car wash.

Mine washes hers as I showed her and does a very good job. Now if I could get her to wash the truck that would be a winner.

I always hand wash, a few times a year, the cars/trucks. Can't do the automated washes. I'd rather do it once before the winter and once after than go through the machine.

I was going to do it but she'd rather have me hold the baby and do the washing. It is funny how she'd almost rather do anything to get a break from holding/watching the baby.

I can't teach mine which end of a leaf rake or snow shovel to hold.
Forget about washing a car.

My wife washes the herself, me, boat and the clothes in that order. I can't get her to wash the cars, dishes or the dogs.

I don't have to do jack-chit inside the house....I'll gladly wash the cars and boat in return.

My car gets washed once a week (even in the winter), the truck and her Burb gets it every couple weeks all year too. The boat gets washed every trip out.

In the winter, I'm judicious about rinsing off the undercarraige after storms, when the roads get treated with all the stuff that they treat them with. I will also hose off the tops but that is it.

I wonder, what all the "hype-jazz-guys getting their jollies" from watching someone wash a car, what with youporn/pornhub and all the free sites showing the real-deal, what has this world come to???

Ok, ok, the whole "imagination" coming in to play and all that baloney . . .

Mine washes like yours, I always end up with football sizes of dirty spots after she's done. But I always say, Thanks Hon, I was meaning to do it" and then I carry on.

I have to always figure, as in junkyards, the tops of the cars will greatly outlast the bottom, as is evidenced by hulks of old wrecks that are sitting around, with the top of the car/truck still in decent shape, while the rest has gone away.

It is small stuff after all I had to figure. I do put a coat of RejeX on twice a year so figure that she can't "wash" it off anyway.

Good man, Garrett.
My wife is very particular with her stuff. She washes her own car and sometimes my truck. She also washes the boat, and I put all the crap away that goes with it, tow it, launch it, retrieve it. and put it away.. I don't think she misses much on washing.

Ha, I know, I know, I posted over at CorvetteForum, where many are dedicated to keeping their cars showroom, no, wait, "Trophy-Contention-Worthy condition", and won't drive in the rain, over dirt, or can't go out if the car is the least bit detailed where the thread turned into pictures/images of women, in all manner of suds and scant-clothing washing cars, ha!. It is just funny to watch those who don't really care do what they are going to do. The wife really doesn't care a whit, it runs, it drives, it is just transportation after all.

I definitely know better than to get all riled up on a forum over anything so no offense taken 'fo 'sho.

I'm waiting for the "Honey, I'm done-(washing the car/truck)" with a picture showing a clean spot and the rest of the car/truck all muddy and still dirty.

That is a good-one Bruce W.

My buddy, who is a foreman of a company has a couple of great issues like yours.

First, his wife only needs to bring the truck that HE paid for to any shop for maintenance and HE will pay the bill, she still doesn't do it and it ends up costing him more for things like brakes or a wheel out of balance. It drives him crazy.

Then, as a foreman, his company lets the guys/workers take home trucks. They have an account so that any routine maintenance/brake jobs/noises get taken care of for FREE!, all they have to to is bring it in and wait a little while on their off-days as they don't pay for gas or anything to use the trucks, do they do it, NO!

Shoot, just can't win, right?
