Default Ahhh freaking crap!

The Boston But is stuck at about 170 degrees. It is 18:50 and am waiting for it to get over 180/190. This is a sure fire way that the admiral and I will end up in a tizzle. The real issue is when I have to tell her, like always, that the damn thing must sit wrapped in foil for an additional hour before we eat.

Uh Oh! Better grab another cold one!

I've been hanging around the house today since we are going to a BBQ next door in a few minutes. He's been cooking something that smells real good!

Good luck with your feast!

I was sending out some work emails and just got the shot across the bow......."Is the meat done?"....spoken in that voice. Followed up by my dumbazz response.."if the meat was done would I be sitting here?"

I wish I was going to the neighbors BBQ!

Shirley this can't be the first time. We always talk in very general terms time wise, and I'm not even doing the fancy cooking you guys are doing..............yet.

Did you snap the thermometer? Good luck and enjoy.

2nd the additional cold one.

Do what I do and turn it around on her- "If you would have done(blank) earlier, then it would already be done."

All you have to say is "another 15 minutes" eight or nine times. No big deal.

We ended up eating about 9 pm so not to bad. It turned out perfect. Towards the end she changed her strategy and had the kids coming at me one at a time.

How come you folks up North call cooking on the grill BBQ? Down here, it ain't BBQ unless it is smoked pork with some kind of sauce or marinade. Just curious, not poking fun.

how long did you allow to cook the butt? usually for me an 8 lb bone in takes a minimun of 12-13 hours. Also, after about 5 hours it doesn't take any more smoke into the meat. So don't be afraid to wrap it in foil if you are under the gun time wise.
