Default Jaws - 35 years later

Wow. 35 years ago Jaws opened. Just now realized this after seeing it on the evening news. Just felt like starting a thread because it's the best movie and deserves a new thread on a regular basis. Share your thoughts the first time you saw the film and how it affected you.

Jaws was the first date with my first wife at the drive-in. Nineteen years old. We were in my '71 VW. Skyway drive-in in Tampa. hard to beleive it's been that long.

My favorite movie of all time, I have probably seen it at least 50 times, everytime I see it I see something new or a line I did not remember.
I remember when I first saw it in the theate when I was 9 years old, I did not sleep for weeks, my view of the ocean was changed forever.

I was 9 when it came out. We were visiting family in St Petersburg, Fl when we saw it. We left the theater and went right back to swimming in the canal behind my uncles house.

It is still a great movie. I watch it whenever I see it on tv. There aren't too many movies I watch over and over, but Jaws, Goodfellas, The Godfather and MP - Quest for the Holy Grail are a few of them.

i love it, my favorite all time. ive been to the orca, have a small plank of it even. so many great lines, its a must watch every summer. i love how funny some of the lines / scenes are. how bout posting some of the lighter side of JAWS quotes.

'its only and island if you look at it from the water'

not sure if this is correct wording but..
'chief, the kids down at the karate school keep karating the picket fences.'

Front, bow. Back, stern. If ya don't get it right, squirt, I throw your ass out the little round window on the side.

Ellen Brody: Martin hates boats. Martin hates water. Martin... Martin sits in his car when we go on the ferry to the mainland. I guess it's a childhood thing. It's a... there's a clinical name for it isn't there?
Brody: Drowning.

I was 5 years old when I saw it at the theatre. It scared the shit out of me. When Hooper dove dow to the wrecked boat and the guys head came to the hole in the hull, I screamed real loud. I was in the Coast Gaurd on the Vineyard. I watch that movie every time I see it on.

Great movie. Classic.

Saw it for the first time when I was 4 yrs old. Scared me pretty good considering I spent a bunch of time at the beach and swimming in the salt.

Brings back memories.

Saw a nice 5 or so foot Bull shark while I was wade fishing this weekend - not quite JAWS but still intimidating.

I was maybe 11, fought with the rents to go and finnally in its "held over 12 smash week" they caved. I was obsessed with sharks till hi school. Could not catch enough of them to dissect looking for a license plate (or a leg).

Great flick that stands the test of time.

BTW AFD listed a few other of the greats.
