Default 69 million dollar bill from the feds?

It seems to me the feds really haven't done much, the cleanup has not been going on for very long so how is the bill already 69 million? I though BP had hired most of the vessels doing the clean up offshore so far? Also thought BP hired most of the people on the beach? Oh well, typical govt at work. They(the govt) probably paid 2 or 3 hundred per rake, shovel and trash bag. I should have guessed.

Surely you arent serious? I'll sign that bill on behalf of my fellow taxpayers.

How much do those CG boats cost to operate?

Dead serious. the feds sent BP that bill for work they did. (or say they did, must just need more money for Piglosi's booze, and Obummer's date nights!)

You are probably correct... but I would sooner BP pay for it than the tax payer

I was thinking that was cheap All the manhours, booms, other resources. Heck it's cost BP over 1 billion so far. Hopefully they charge them a lot more in the future Just because things aren't going the way people want, dosn't mean a lot of work isn't going on. The instant gratification society we live in sets some pretty unrealistic ideals, things don't always happen instantly though. Even more reason why it's so infuriating that better steps weren't taken to avoid this mess in the first place.

That inflated 69 million dollar bill is more like 10 million dollars in private sector "real work"... but, at least it was mailed to BP and not taxpayers.

Yeah, you hold your breath on that one. I think the dims have found a cash cow and they're gonna bleed it into oblivion. Then guess where the bill will be mailed to ...

X2 What in the hell is the POTUS thinking to send a BILL to the people while they're still fighting the war? That's equally as superficial and just plain stupid as demanding hearings so that BP executives will have to divert their attention to Washington's photo-op corps instead of doing what they need to do.

Obama is the lead on this and he senses a political opportunity to dull the edge of the upcoming elections. When all is done, we on the Gulf will have gotten screwed by our own government's fools.
