Default Shall I go or should I wait another week?

I hate when this happens. Weather channel is predicting rain Sat & Sun from Florida all the way to NJ. Trailer is serviced, boat is loaded, stuff is staged to pack the truck, I can be on my way in an hour... I hate towing in the rain, especially for 1200 miles. Maybe I'm turning into a wussy....

Mike,

Who knows what the weather will be like next week so my vote would be go now. Of course after yesterdays T-Storm I would be a wussy too.

Safe travels.

I'd wait another 2-3 weeks, the water temps on NJ are still in the low 60's

I don't know if you are familiar with surface prog charts but here you are:

http://www.nws.noaa.gov/outlook_tab.php

Looks like typical summer PM wx. Chance of a weak low moving up the stationary front over VA but thier forcast only at 30% pm showers. I think the same for the Carolina's. Seems to move east as a cold front later, but not much.

This very pattern has been in place a week plus I think. Most wx has been pm TRW's till 2-3 am.

Forgot- there is a trough forming over VA/NC/SC - Interstate 95. TRW's assured!!!!!

I know it's easy for me say it, but drive through it....on the other side of this front is nice weather. Worst comes to worst, make the drive an extra day long.

I'd drop the boat in the water here in NJ and troll down to Fl. rent a car when you arrive for $10 a day and enjoy the fish!

(In my mind anyway)

If you don't like towing in the rain why chance it, I'd wait. Being comfortable while driving is important!

And more so with others on the road.

If I were smart, I would go buy a good canvas and leave the boat here. I have 2 boats in NJ I can use anytime I want plus my 13 Whaler...
I just got a call that may make it worth my while to stop in Florence SC on Monday morning........

I'd say do the tow, that way you don't waste nice weather days towing when instead of towing you can be fishing.

I thought you were going to "ship" it? Or was that something else?

Go for it.

Bike & car getting shipped... He's late getting here!

I decided just a little while ago to leave the boat here with a good friend to take care of and enjoy for the summer. I have other boats to use in Joisey. Add to that, a close friend and former boat & business partner is looking at used 33 & 35 Fountain Fevers & Lightnings and wants a partner.... We'll see what happens next
