Default BP making it right...

Really???? Can anyone imagine any amount of money can make this disaster right? They have destroyed the gulf, the fisheries the wild life are dying/dead/gone. Yea it will come back, but really how does money fix that?

I am large consumer of oil, not a tree hugger - the most fuel efficient vehicle I own get 19MPG on the highway and like others on this forum use 100's of gallons of fuel/month. Between the security threat oil creates and now this, it really makes me think the need to move to an alternative is greater then ever.

You failed to mention that they also destroyed 11 people outright as well as their friend's and families by allowing safety measure's to go unchecked/fixed.
I wont say murdered since they haven't been brought up on criminal charges yet or convicted of same.

Make it right...right. They reportedly have spent $50M on pr firms and lobbyists. I'm guessing they got paid upfront. If BP wants to make it right, they would pay the fisherman and other folks affected by this before the lobbyists.

Your government sucks....there's a million ways to get a vehicle down the road.
Why don't we have alternatives???

I've got 100k miles on my bohemoth f250, and engine oil checks every 5k miles.
Last report from blackstone said she's wearing better than most, and expect to get 400k out of her.
The last 50k on used (garbage) veggie oil....ask yourself how this can be.

I do, every day...
Take your change and jam it down that busted pipe.

I'm not defending BP one bit...but to say the gulf is destroyed is plain stupid and not what we here in Florida want our tourists to hear. This kind of talk needs to stop. Our beaches are currently unharmed, fishing is doing great, and we need out tourists. So please keep these kind of comments to yourself. it does nothing but spread the misinformation...

Ya'll have nothing to worry about, BP will take care of the Gulf just like Exxon did for Alaska

Pull your head out of the sand. The oil is coming and the silver lining is the loss of tourism.

NOT HERE YET!!! So in the mean time we need all those people to come down while they still can. I'm going to be optimistic and hope the loop keeps it away from our beaches. If you know anything about the west coast of FLA you'll know the currents keep away from the shore lines.

P.S. I live in the sand down here so I'll gladly keep my head in it.

I still say that BP will hand out money and everything else while the oil is not contained but once they get a handle on it the money will stop and it will end up in court and yes they will loose but I am betting they drag it on for 5-10 years in our court system and play the waiting game with most people that file claims.

A boat mechanic just left the house after giving my boat a PPI for the new owner. He's been working on the oil boats (pour Dawn into engines and every pump, change OB impellers weekly) for two weeks and didn't get paid yesterday.

He's not sure whether he and the 15 other mechanics can make it for another 2 weeks without money.

If the money doesn't start flowing and mechanics, etc., start quitting, then the whole process will slow down significantly...with fewer boats operating every day.
