Real Player (www.real.com) is free and might do what you need.

Thanks for the help guys.Couldn't get the real player to work so far.

I have Real Player and if I "hover" the mouse over a flash video it will give me an option to download it.

What format are you wanting to save it in?

jobowker 06-04-2010 06:54 AM

Real player generally doesn't allow you to capture and save flash. I believe orbit will do the trick.

Good question.I really don't know.I need to be able to capture a video and then be able to email it.I don't know what format would best allow it to be compressed for email but still be able to play full screen.I have received email videos that would play at 1/5 screen size in windows media. That makes it hard to see.I hate to sound like an idiot but I not at all familiar with the different formats or programs. Thanks

Well orbit may be fine for you as suggested above. http://download.cnet.com/Orbit-Downl...-10600926.html As far as playback size you can usually full screen a video but if the quality is low it will look bad. Streaming video is usually fairly low in quality to keep the file size (and bandwidth) down. Orbit will allow you to capture the video at least.

JB I found camstudio this morning and it does what I need. The only thing I haven't worked out yet is how to send the files. Some of the videos can be up to an hour, most are 5-15 mins. The only way I can find to share the videos is through a youtube acct so far. They are to large to send through email and I haven't found a way to compress them that works. How do you send yours? Thanks

Jungleb0y 06-05-2010 06:26 PM

I usually share them off my laptop or off my website. Haven't done any on youtube. You could look at Mediafire I have placed stuff on there before.
