I'm not complaining, I just got a heck of a deal... I'm having my Porsche AND my Harley shipped from Florida to NJ for $1,000.00 in an enclosed trailer!

After I paid the booking deposit of $119.00, I read the rules for the service provider.. He never sees that $119.00, they 'apply it to his account' and he never gets it... Bottom line is he is doing it for $881.00... When I talked to him on the phone, I volunteered to cover 1/2 of it as a tip, made him happy..... and it gives me more warm'n'fuzzies that'll he'll show up. On top of that, I pay $28.00 for the service.. They make $147.00, are responsible for nothing except maintaining a website...
Why didn't I think of that :banghead: ?

That sort of thing is VERY common in the freight business. It is very simple. Most of the people who drive/haul have very little business acumen -- they know how to drive, they don't know much about marketing or the like... without the guy getting them the work, they would be driving for somebody else, being paid by the mile.

When you think it about, it is a nice gig on both sides. The guy who drives, is doing what he loves, and the guy making the deal is doing the same. :)

Granted. I'd rather be the guy on the computer side... but then again, I like being with my family. ;)

Plus, maintaining a web site that gives you (the consumer) feedback from actual customers on the shipper you choose is a huge plus.
