Default Boston fans

A few years ago, when the Yankees were up 3 - 0 on the Sox and the Sox won 4 in a row, Sox fans delighted in calling it "the greatest choke in post season baseball history." As a Yank fan, my take was "better to choke for a series than for a century." Be that as it may, in view of this year's Stanley Cup playoffs, I have to ask those same Boston fans, "How are the Bruins doing?" What comes around, goes around.

I've been a diehard Bruins fan for 40 years, and what you witnessed on Friday was a full-on, gasping, hands-to-the-throat, turning blue choke. Pathetic.

I was at last year's series final when the B's lost to Carolina in OT, and this was worse.

However, I was also at Sox/Yankees Game 4 in 2004 when Papi drilled it into the right field pen to start the turnaround, and that was absolutely delicious.

Papelbon's choke in the 9th tonight (2 2-run homers) was pretty pathetic too.

I'll still stand behind my Bruins and cheer them on.

I don't know call me old. But this is my favorite picture of Bruin hockey. The great Noel Picard showing Bobby Orr how to be a legend. I do believe the Bruins beat the Blues in 4 straight.

The Bruins choke fest has been the one and only highlight in the Bruins stanley cup hopes in the last twenty years when they last made it to the big dance and lost in the 89/90 season (4 games to 1).

I do seem to recall that the Yankees (no I am not a fan of those bums) have surrounded that defeat to the sox in 2004 with several other championship trophies to substitute for the one they missed.

I think the Bruins choking/loss this past game 7 is one of the biggest of all time. Up 3 goals after the 1st period?, then losing 4-3.

The Bruins went to the Cup in 88 and again in 90. There was no way to beat the Oilers back then.

Definitely the biggest choke in Bruins History..but not boston sports history..
imo..86 RedSox world series, Bill Buckner missing a routine ground ball between his legs takes the cake!

Its true the Yankees are bums and I whole heartedly agree with you that they have more trophies than Boston but with an open check book what would you expect? the Red Sox have just started to spend some real money over the past few years to establish a winning team give them some time and they will win as many penants as the Yank's.
