Congratulations Chris & Kristen, best of luck to you!

My advise; The house & kids can wait, buy the boat first

Male's guide to a happy marriage.....memorize this phrase, and use it wisely...

I'm sorry, dear. You were right, and I was wrong. I apologize....!!!!

Mike, the boat has got to come soon, kids will wait, not the boat. We need to get out fishing some time.

Thank you all for the advise and kind words! Guys I work with all say the same thing remember the words "I'm sorry!".

I am leaving on Sunday for Colorado for a week, and we are excited!

Thanks again everyone!

I guess trout fishing counts as wetting a line. Have a great honeymoon and I am sorry will certainly get you out of most pickles

here's my advice/observation...

if you don't feel comfortable talking about something now, you can be assured you won't feel comfortable talking about it later. get all your cards on the table, and go all in

best of luck to you both, and congratulations!

I found this a few years ago and modified it to meet my needs...I still have not had it signed...
My Dearest Dawn: 5/1/98 (could be one year to the date we get married)

While we will be pledging our Mutual love and devotion sometime in the very near future, I thought I would take a few minutes to "define" the meaning of love and to formalize some sort of contractual agreement that will keep our love fresh and endlessly fulfilling. In order to accomplish this takes a commitment from each of us not to smother the qualities of the other that attracted us to each other in the first place.

Here is a list of the "Rules For Maintaining An Everlasting Love."

1. These 12 months will be yours to plan our social schedule. You can count on me to always be there for you.

a. October-November (Except for a few Dove or goose hunts and an occasional offshore tuna trip to the Canyons spending a little quality time with my dad). Other than that, my time is your time.

b. February-May. Just a suggestion, but February seems to be a good month for a wedding as hunting and fishing is generally pretty slow.

2. The following six months will be mine (FISHING). While it will be horrible being away from you for even a minute, our relationship will grow stronger at the thought of coming back to your sweet embrace.

a. June-September. The fishing will be hot and every weekend will be planned at Atlantic beach. Unfortunately this will mean that I will be unavailable for any Saturday nights together, as Atlantic beach is a four hour drive and we will be fishing both Saturday and Sundays. Also regrettably, I will miss all of the "great weddings" of your friends. Mine would never plan their wedding during the height of the Tuna season. But, to make up for it, I will be sure to drop them off some fish as a wedding present sometime during the week prior to their happy union.

b. November-December. Hunting will be at it's peak and, as the hunter-gatherer in the family, I look forward to bringing many birds home for you to clean and cook. Won't it be great to have a nice game dinner and lounge around the fire enjoying a glass of wine together before you have to finish washing the dishes? Doesn't it sound like heaven? This should also give you some time to spend with your girlfriends chatting and getting reacquainted while I am regrettably away from you.

Well Dawn, that's about it. Just initial the above contract and return it to our attorneys for filing.

Yours forever,

Rick AKA “Bub”

I believe that said contract has been upheld in all 5O states as binding and final. It is recommended that you choose a court where the judge is a local member, charter member, or an officer of the Rod & Gun Club. That can expedite matters by the filing of a motion for summary judgment should the party of the second party, herein after referred to as the "little woman", decide to revisit the contractual terms and obligations she had previously agreed to voluntarily, willingly, and intellingently.
However, should YOU, the party of the first party, herein after referred to as "the boss", decide to modify, alter, change, revisit, or nullify the above terms and conditions that the "little woman" wanted you to abide by, the perfect defense that has been upheld in all state and federal appellate courts has been on of "temporary insanity-induced by tuna, albacore, bass, trout, any any other ichthyologically related species, sub-species, genus, or family, or any other members of the fish family", thus vitiating any presumption of the "voluntary, willingly, and intelligent" requriement.

There are 3 kinds of sex in a marriage. (I'll keep it clean)

When you first get married there is whole house sex. Anywhere and everywhere. Kitchen, living room, you get the idea.

After kids arrive there is bedrom and bathroom sex. Gotta get behind a locked door.

After 5-7 years there is hall sex. That's when you pass each other in the hall and say f*** you!

Seriously, congratulations! We're coming up on number 28.
