You can get a legit one from Apple or AT&T for $299. Not sure it's worth finding out for $49.

Those that post spam do so in complete violation of our rules.

Do think they really are ethical people who will help if you have a problem?

Or maybe they post the ad, collect all the money they can from people who think they really do sell at under cost? Once they do, they are gone into the night.

You need to go to the ATT site. They have a bunch of deals from new contracts to refurbs.
You will get the best deal if you are a new customer.

I think android phones are going to own the iphone soon anyway. Don't buy an iphone without at least checking out the andoid phone from your carrier. I have a Samsung Moment from Sprint and I love it. It's really amazing...

I tried the android before making the jump to iphone...im glad i was able to return it in the 30 day window...the android to me had great features, but nowhere near as 'smooth' as the iphone. I had the HTC Hero...

And I have seen a few imitation iphones - stick with the Mod4 advice...

Just my 0.02

iPhone rules!!! I had a G1 and returned it a week later....it had a few cool features and many annoying ones...like accelerometer only worked in 2 directions, wtf?!?

I have an iPhone on Tmobile and I'm looking to make the switch to At&T...I have a really good plan but ~ 3X a year I go over my minutes $$$ If I was with at&t i would have rollover.....and my elderly mother cant seem to remember to pay her phone bill so I thought I would take care of that for her.

I phone is the best phone hands down Navionics is great but they have a ton of great apps and a lot of them are free. My kid has an app that if you press a button and hold it up to the radio it will tell you who the song is by it really is an incredible phone I have a Black berry for work and it's not even close.

A new 3GS 32G without contract costs right now $801. I just bought and sold 300 of them. ATT subsidizes it down to the $250 / $299 price, or whatever lowest price they offer for a new activation and 2 year contract.

Also if you are going to buy one without a contract be very sure you buy one that is "neverlocked", vs "unlocked". "Unlocked" will generally go back to locked status once you upgrade your iTunes.

Mine was a replacement for my previous Sony Ericsson phone on my existing Family Talk contract. I'm an AT&T Premier customer thru my work, maybe that was part of the discount.

I don't suppose any of you iphone fanboys saw the news yesterday did you?

http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Mobile-and-...D-Says-860818/

It's already happebed and the android operating system is still full of bugs. As they get it running better and better it's going to leave iphone in the dust.

I thought the timing of this was impeccable. Just sayin'.
