Don't mean to play devils advocate here...but how is FB any different that the forum like THT? Outside of the fact it looks a bit different and there is lots of useful information on forums. People still share pictures, brag, say look at me, or just want to commune with others with the same interests. I am guilty of all the above. All that aside, I still try and keep my personal information private, including my hometown on FB. It's fun to share fishing and boating pics with my friends that do the same. Not much different than a forum.

As for FB taking my info for money, there is always a catch to anything that is "free" just common sense there. How could anyone not see that coming given the size of FB? Side note, ever wonder how craigslist makes money? You never hear about it. I am sure they sell your info the in same fashion. Thats pure speculation tied to a little common sense though.

I use facebook mostly to comunicate to friends and family thru messages,
Some people fell the need to post their family and social drama on the page.

I use it like I use MSN or AOL IM.

why would anyone put info on there that is 'real'? I've got fake DOB and my bs email account everywhere.

if they want to know I took a crap at 3am from my last status update, go for it.
