I remember those! We used to throw them straight up in the air and then try to avoid them. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Drunk Lawn darts. Even in a state of being drunk I somehow with great difficulty moved away from the circle and over to the side when someone was throwing at my end. These stories of all the accidents too me was a gene pool thing.

Yes, but now the government is here to protect us from ourselves. My brother and I had bows and arrows. We would shoot them straight up in the air. You knew when you could NOT see them you'd better ruuuuuuun. Man, take that, the BB gun wars and shooting at each other with bottle rockets and roman candles it is a wonder we are dead. Ahhh, good times.

Jarts!

My brother and I decided one day that it would be a great idea to play with them in the pool. You know, an above-ground pool with a plastic liner.

Dad was a little pissed at that one...we laugh about it today, but wasn't too funny when he got home from work that night...

Sorry to hear you are dead. You didn't by chance grow up on Charlotte Drive in Portsmouth Va? Sounds just like what we did as kids.

We sharpened the Jarts.
I have no idea why......
One stuck to my hand during the toss and went through a window.
When the neighbor got home they had a friggin missile stuck in their living room wall and a broken window. Never did own up to it.
So, we learned to play with 5 instead of 6 Jarts.

Yeah, dirt clods exploded really cool, didn't they?
We used rocks too.

Remember playing chicken, barefoot, with folding-blade knives?

Still have lots of tiny scars on all of my toes.

Used to have a few and see who could hit the light pole - across the street from the front porch up in Hunter NY.
Also managed to shoot an arrow through my neighbors back bedroom window, when it went through the target box I was aiming at. They weren't very pleased when they arrived at my house, !!

Of course I meant Are NOT dead. I guess we weren't the only dumb kids around. I grew up all over as a Navy Brat. There never seemed to be a shortage of willing idiots, myself included.

We also enjoyed great battles with the little cheap bottle rockets, we had hours of fun shooting them at everyone in the neighborhood, seems like you could be a gross for about $5 or so.

Somehow those that make the decisions decided this was too dangerous as well sure was a lot of FUN TO US
