I wish that there was a nation-wide store .... where I could shop .... and be assured that everything within was made in the USA. It's a very simple request ..... how many of you would also shop in this store even if the prices were 20% higher?

I believe products should be successful because of their quality and value, not solely because of where they are made.
Given that everything is equal, I'll but American made every time.

Your heart's in the right place, but truth be told, money talks. The last groups that thought we'd pay more for American was the car industry and the UAW.

They priced themselves out of the market and tried to pressure Americans into buying their product and when you shopped for value and bought something else, you were thought of as unAmerican.

Here is the end scene in "Gung Ho". All I can remember about this movie is that the auto workers were given a quota to meet and they fell short but still thought they deserved the reward anyway......because they "Tried hard"..... but still ended up with a crap product.

My BIL, life time union electrical worker, as was his father, years ago he would not buy anything that was not 100% American made. He looked down on me and my wife for buying a Toyota and anyone that was not union. I said I want value and reliability for my money.
Well now he is still union and raving about how much he likes the Honda he bought his wife, then another one. He bought himself a Masda3. What a change of attitude.

Would we pay more or would it be less profitable.....

Good idea but quite frankly the store would have very few products to sell.

Good point about the car industry. I believe that is partially a result of the unions having too much power. I worked for a packing and shipping company as a seasonal employee several years ago....Ridiculous is the only way to describe it...guys showing up still drunk, missing work for no reason, obviously pot heads, they even ran out behind the place on the 10 minute brake to "burn"....The union makes it almost impossible to fire anybody, a guy who cleans up in the morning, hes a janitor, made, back then 29$/hr!!!! stupid

There have been calls in Australia to dedicated an isle in the supermarket to 100% Australian owned and grown. This could also work in the US. Have they done it NO !!! Will they do it??? Who knows. I think it would be a massive eye opener to really see how much of your food is imported.

The call for only one isle says it all really......Maybe couldn't even fill that.
