It was scandalous.

That's freakin funny right there.

Katie's a cute young lady Laird; you've done her proud! ......interesting peek inside the envelop.

You've now told us now that she sings and plays the guitar very well, but you didn't tell us she plays the violin even better Daddy.

Bugbuster that is a true story. I first heard it from Katie. Stu's girl was goalie on the HS Soccor team and Katie was "Sec of defense" for all 4 years. Katie told me what her friends dad had done and she was outraged. It actually got me off the hook for a bit. LOL. Unfortunately I had just instituted my "Telephone Manners" campaign and Stu's great blow for father's rights fell by the wayside. I was tired of answering the phone and hearing "LET ME TALK TO ...(insert any daughter's name). So I started resp[onding to that by asking "May I tell her who the rude young man who wishes to speak to her is?" When he identified himself I would say "Please call back and say "Hello Mr O'Neill, this is (insert name) may I please speak with (insert name). That became very rewarding. 10 years after my older girls graduated from high school when I attend football games strange young men come up to me and say "Hello Mr O'Neill, I am (insert name) would you please say hi to (insert name).

Well when you're an opposing 6'4" version of this guy I guess suitors will stand up and listen.

Garrett, I am 6'5" not 6'4" , sometimes an inch makes a difference. You will forever be my friend for sending me the complete collection of "T-Top Spider" but do not ever refer to me as 6'4" again. I will not tolerate it. Laird

Thanks Laird.

As the father of 2 daughters (now in college), I get it.

My favorite was to make sure I was cleaning my 45 auto whenever the poor boy was first coming over to be introduced. I would answer the door and wave him in using the weapon with the barrel pointed up, and would always say "come in boy". I am 6'3", 250 (in those days. I pack 280 now - hey I'm pushing 50, leave me alone about it) which certainly sealed the intimidation deal We would then talk while I cleaned the gun.

Ahhh, those were the days......

I opened this thread to see what 2 pages was about, and when I heard the words your daughter was singing, I felt like should be laughing, but for some reason, the opposite happened.

Damn I'm getting old and soft!

I'm sure you beam with pride when you talk about her!

Thanks Mike!! She is a fine child...LOL. All my girls know how to fish, shoot a gun (they stopped hunting with me around 13-go figure) and use power tools. Katie is a prolific songwriter but she will not be a career musician. She wants to have other people sing her songs so she can grow a garden and start a family. My other girls are awesome but do not have an easily posted content like this. Share the link with your buddies. I am sure that some artist will buy one of her songs and she will then be able to make me a grandbaby...lol.
In fact tell all my THT buddies to send this link out. I NEED a grandbaby...lol

Snapper, the last thing you say to your daughter as she is leaving with her date, as you are still cleaning your gun, loud and clear enough for him to hear also,
"REMEMBER, I'M NOT AFRAID TO GO BACK TO JAIL!!"

I tell my little girl (now 21) that, and she says "DAD!!!!, You better NOT!!!"

What I do tell them, quietly, in one ear is,
"You understand there is nothing I love more than my little girl and there is nothing I won't do to protect her.....understand?"

"Yes sir!"

Looks like she is wearing a shirt with an Aussie flag on it! Great vid BTW. The 'love ya daddy' at the end is priceless.

Great! Can't wait to share this with my 16 y/o daughter... I did tell her boyfriend that I didn't want to go back to prison, but I will if he breaks the rules!

dcox, she is not going to be a musician (performer) as a career. She is a songwriter. Her husband is in grad school at APP State and she wants to start a family and grow food (we are organic farmers). The lifestyle of a performer is terrible. She is very talented but Nashville and Hollywood are cesspools. Maybe someone will like her songs and buy one but for now we are having a blast with the blog. As soon as I can figure out the web cam thing I will post a video of my songs. LOL. I am working on "I am a has-been guitar player but I am a never-was singer". Look for it. It will be really bad.
