Default Thank heaven for little girls

Guys, last night was one of those nights. My wife, my daughter, and I went out to eat and dance. One of our favorite bands was playing. They played for our wedding reception. We go see them pretty regularly on Friday nights when we can. I have always had to carry my daughter to dance with her, and she loves it. She's 4 now and last night was the first time I got to dance with her without carrying her. We held hands and she backed around the floor with a big smile on her face. It brought tears to my eyes and is a night I will never forget.
All the threads lately about new babies, adopting, taking in babies from family members...........it's all SOOOOOOOOO worth it. Just wanted to share.

Good for you. They grow up so fast. Mine is away at college now (luckily only two hours away) and I miss her terribly.

Truer words have never been spoken. My oldest is 9. I have to be careful when I hug her becuase her chest is "tender" sometimes. Next thing you know, there will be tampons and maxipads in the kids bathroom , boyfriends , etc.

Our oldest is 14. Youngest is 6. 3 boys and 1 girl. The boys can't get away with anything, but our daughter sure knows how to work me.

My boys 12 now and I swear just yesterday the wife & I went thru a 17hr ordeal in the delivery room. My gosh time does fly. I decided 13 yrs ago to work from home, which enables me to set my own schedual for the most part , and spend as much time with him while I still can. I have certainly sacrificed as far as pay goes, but I would not want it any other way. In just a few short years he will be gone and our time spent together will be limited. Nothing better in MHO then being a father.

My daughter is 17 now (only child) and yes the time has gone by fast. We are still very close, but there is no way she'll dance with me if any friends are around. She is a junior in high school and we are looking at colleges.

I am really worried about how I am going to handle her going away to college in about 18 months.

Priceless. It always seems to be the little things that makes the butter go soft.

My little girl will be 8 next month and I cannot believe how fast the time goes.
I was laid off last May and haven't found employment just yet so I have been spending ALOT of time with her/activities. I am a soccer Dad, school volunteer, Gymnastics Dad, take her and her friends to outings at museums, beach,zoo,lunch,ect...... and frankly this recession has been a blessing!
The wife and I have tightened our budget (she still works) and we have also come to realize just how much $$$ we have been pissing away while I was grinding away out on the road away from home going after the big corp bucks!! Sorry, got a bit off track!!
Anyhow, I am making tons of great memories now because I know it won't be long when she will be spending more time with her friends.
Enjoy while you can!!

I have 3 fine girls. They will, fish, hunt and hike with you if you want them to. The benefit is that they will always want to curl up on your lap and be told they are wonderful , beautiful, strong, smart and fierce. Tell them that every day for 18 years. If you tell them every day that they are loved they will believe you.

I showed my 9 year old daughter how to head lock, twist and mule kick at the same time when her twin brother starts getting rough with her. I cant wait til he comes crying and I have to explain to him again he shouldn't be so rough playing with his sister...
