Default If you had an intruder in your house, would you use deadly force?

I ask this because I would only use deadly force only if I felt that my life or someone else's life was in danger. Some would disagree.

Too many wackos out there. I'd have no qualms about pulling the trigger and have plenty of fire power to back up that statement.

I'd hate for something terrible to have happened to my family and look back and regret not doing something.

To me it just depends on the circumstance. For sure once the sun goes down.

Officer: Why did you shoot the guy 6 times?

Home owner: He fell before I could reload.

I find it amazing how aperson can be found at fault for shooting another person when all they were doing was syealing a T.V.

As stated once you have the balls to enter my home I feel you are threat enough to warent me defending my family by any means I deam needed.

I wouldn't hesitate to drop the hammer on an intruder in my house.

With a wife and four kids to protect, I'll do whatever it takes to take care of business.

And I have a "clean" throw-down weapon stored away just in case...

As Walt Disney used to say, "Dead men tell no tales"...

I would hope that my head is rational enough to determine the difference between a bonafide threat to my family and some drunk stubling around looking for his own house. I am not a sure thing to pull the trigger.

I can tell you from experience that being responsible for ones death is not all its cracked up to be. You will find NO solice in knowing that the kid you just killed was a scumbag, and it will haunt you forever. So once he decides to choose your house, both of your lives will change forever.

But.....Yes, to protect my family in my own house, yes, I would hope I can protect them by whatever force I deem necessary at the time.

Yes, but only for my life, my families.

I have run the scenario before. My home is setup where all the bedrooms are upstairs, and at the end of the hall. If they want only property from downstairs they are more than welcome to take it, but as far as I am concerned, once the come up to where the bedrooms are....

About 10 years ago someone broke into my vehicle the night before I was going hunting and ended up taking 2 rifles, 4 big zippered bags of clothes, boots and other stuff but what woke us up was when they opened the garage door. The Admiral heard it before I did and I really did not pay any attention to her at first. Well when I got up and went into the front of our house I realized the carport light was on, this happens when the door opens, and it did not take but a second to realize the back glass of my jeep cherokee was broken. I then got the phone and called police and naturally grabbed my Glock 10 mm. They actually came into the carport and grabbed a few more things including a nice Browning Gortex jacket that was hanging on the wall right beside the door leading into the house, of course it was locked but it still rattled my cage that someone could have come into the house.

Well that early am they ended up with over $4K worth of stuff in just a few minutes, they even took the garage door opener and kept it. It was just a miracle I did not go straight into the carport from our house and there is no doubt in my mind that had I realized it was a burgulary I would have and I would have had my pistol with me. I also would imagine had I opened the door and they confronted me I would have shot or worse yet they could have shot me.

Well natuarlly we did not get anything back but a few weeks later this group was caught, it was 4 teenagers but two of them were over 18 and had records a mile long. They had been doing this for several weeks and would hit 8-10 cars a night and would come back later and open the garages and take more stuff. Most of the time they just got cd's, a gun, wallet and small items and all of these ended up being seperate charges which were all petty larceny. The officer told me they almost were bragging about it but they held my case till then end, in the interrigation they bragged about how "well they did" at my house. Slam shut case and it was GRAND THEFT due to the amount. Both of the older ones got 10 years.

I have replayed it a thousand times and honestly I am glad I did not go into the garage from our house that night because I would assume I would have shot on insinct and a human life would not have been worth it however if I were faced with ANYONE coming into my house by force I can promise they would feel the wrath of a 10 mm black tallon bullet since I would fear for my families and my safety.

I even asked the officer at our house that am if I would have been in the right to shoot and he said as long as they were in your carport YES or if I was threatened.

It would be a tough thing to do but my first thought is someone bold enough to come into a house like that is not scared and probably armed anyway, just better make sure you get them first

Right after that we added an alarm system to house and even added a sensor to our garage door and even though it has been 10 years ago the Admiral NEVER GOES TO BED without setting they alarm

I have a 7 month old little girl. So, the biggest decision for me would be which gun to use.

I tend to over analyze situations like this but here is my thought process. If someone is in my home and shouldn't be there; what if they are just kids or someone really down on there luck not meaning my family physical harm in any way. Should I pull the trigger?

Then I ask myself "what if I was wrong and they did harm to my family" so the risk is not worth the debate and I pull the trigger.

Sure - if I was 101% sure it was an intruder.
