Default How Long The Road

42 years in the life of a city, a region, quantified in 40 yards.

No riots, no violence in N.O. Just good times, even with the opposing fans.

Lotso hate from the detractors.

Lotso love from the believers.

Maybe, just maybe, pro sports can be redemptive after all.

Kum by ya, mofos, kum by ya.

Aw geeze... Here we go.

Was the ref that could count to twelve on the Saints payroll? Unbelievable the excuses you asshats can come up with.

I can't wait to hear the excuses if the Saints beat the Colts.

Pass interference on a uncatchable ball?

Called complete pass when he used the ground to control the ball?

Yeah, right.

The owners wanted Saints-Colts. End of story.

You either didn't see the game, that or you're a bigot or you are the type that just doesn't care what means are used to win? So which one are you?

Saints penalized 9 times for 88 yds. (most of which were judgement calls--Pass Int., roughing, def. holding) Vikes penalized 5 times for 32 yds. I don't see how anyone can say the refs were on the Saints side. Look at the numbers. Almost double the calls for almost triple the yardage went to Minnesota.

You have to watch the WHOLE game. The refs were killing the Saints all game long, and the numbers will tell you as much. Penalties which lead to points early in the game are worth just as much as penalties which lead to points at the end of games. Had the game ended in regulation, the vikes would have been hit 3 times for 15 yards.

Please, find something real to cry about.

Why were the Saints penalized for unsportsman like conduct when Farve was rammed into the ground (even Aikman said it was a bad call) when later in the exact same maneuver didn't get called against the Vikings.

The Viking fans I met down here where gracious, generous and a pleasure to have visit our city. It's a shame that other's that where not at the game comment that the Saints won because they feel a single call didn't go their way. The Saints defense pummeled Favre, we stayed in the game, forced turnovers and played until the final whistle. I guess the turnovers where the officials fault also. Anybody that takes a team that went 13 and 0 during the regular season and blames a bad call for their victory is just a sore loser.

Get over it, the Vikings lost the game. Keep it up and I'll begin to believe that you are secretly Bears fans.

The refs sucked on both sides of the ball. Somebody had to win. The Saints have lost more games like the one they played Sunday in the last 42 years than the Vikings have even been in. It's the Saints' turn this year. No way around it. Every team gets breaks and calls on the way to a championship.

To me it didn't matter who won the game...I didn't have a horse in the race. I just don't like to see marginal calls at best influencing the out come of "any" game in the finals or a championship game! In the finals refs should be almost invisible, not a third team in the game.

The rules in the NFL HAS taken several steps backwards IMO. Theyíve created so many wishy-washy rules that itís getting to the point of everything can be called if the officials choose to do so. Itís like itís becoming not a game of rules but more of choices.

Side Note:
Whatís with the receivers throwing their arms up in the air or throwing a tissy to tell the officials to throw the flag because the player feels he was interfered with? Iíd like to see that crap completely shut down!

Garett

I also think it's unprofessional to act like a child and beg for a call to go your way. I also don't like the me, me, me BS after a touchdown, sack, or pass defense . That behavior focuses attention on the individual when it is a team that wins or loses the game. Reggie Bush is guilty of this kind of behavior and its a shame because I really like him.
