Default 2010 Pro Bowl

This may be a dumb question, but how the hell can they play the Pro Bowl before the Super Bowl?

Last time I checked, both Manning and Brees were listed as starters, so will they sit out the game to be ready for the Super Bowl?

Not only is it stupid, but how the hell is it supposed to work?

If they wouldn't put Manning in against the Jets during regular season, it would be insane for them to have him play in what amounts to be an exhibition game a week before the Super Bowl. Same goes for anybody who's on the roster for the Colts or Saints.

I don't get it.

If you are still playing, you don't play in the Pro Bowl. This is the NFL's answer to fill in the hole, of the dumb two week wait, for the Superbowl.

Pro Bowl in between the Conference Championships - DUMB

Two weeks to the Superbowl - Dumb

it's all about t.v. ratings. the NFL's logic is that people are still interested in getting any football they can right now...as opposed to 2 weeks after the superbowl when no one really cared.

this year is an absolute debacle however...david garrard has made the pro bowl (http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/br...y/1445191.html) because SEVEN qb's ahead of him decided they were not going to play.

I understand why there's a two week wait between the championship game and the Super Bowl, but this Pro Bowl thing in between is just stupid. Who wants to watch a bunch of second stringers play in a meaningless game?

At least when the Pro Bowl followed the Super Bowl, the losing team members could get some payback. I have a feeling this will be the one and only time a Pro Bowl is played before the Super Bowl. This has to be George Bush's fault, I just know it.
