Default Quick Hello and Intro!

I'm new to the forum, but not new to forums or boating. Actually found this place through one of my other boating forums - and glad I did! Seems to be a lot of people from the CB area and a quite active group!

My boat is a '79 58' Hatteras Long Range Cruiser. Probably one of the slowest boats on the forum, but I can go a long ways between fill-ups (3,000 miles).

Anyway, I look forward to participating in the discussion topics!

Thanks everyone. I have to give credit to the previous owner for doing a terrific job on the refit. He spent about 3 years and countless bucks (actually, he knew EXACTLY what he spent, and it was a LOT) bringing her into the 21st century. I'm the 3rd owner in 30 years and hope to have her for quite some time. We've only had her 4 months and we're already doing some upgrades - and getting her ready for cruising season.

WELCOME, Kismet!

I live in Mechanicsville and was in Deltaville last Sunday.

Is your boat tied up at Norview, out near the pumps? I may have seen it when I walked out on the pier Sunday to look at all the FOG in Broad Creek! Looks like your pics were taken somewhere else - I see you boat is not home ported in Deltaville?

I usually use the ramp at Norview when I fish, and my parents lived in Deltaville for years.

BEAUTIFUL boat (even if it's not the one I saw)!

You will really enjoy this Forum - LOTS of good folks and good help!

Regards,

Hello and welcome.

Beautiful boat! My good friend is a captain and used to work for a guy that owned two Hatt's like that, one was a 70 and the other was a 58 which looked identical to yours inside and out. I spent a good bit of time on both and I could swear yours was the same boat. You didn't recently buy that boat from someone in South Florida did you?

Welcome to THT. Beautiful boat.

Don't worry slow is ok, as long as it is not a boat brand that some people like to bash! Hatteras is good.

Does it really have range of 3000 miles? Awesome

Can you give us more specs?

Thanks again everyone. Yeah, we haven't had much time to spend on her the last couple of months, but she's wonderful for entertaining. I was hoping to be able to do some striper fishing, but it's been so darn cold, we decided to go ahead and winterize early and go straight to the "project" list....

Pictures are of the listing, just before I bought her last fall. She's been moved to Deltaville, I just don't have a picture with the new D'ville labels on her stern. Her permanent home is Deltaville Marina on Jackson Creek.

As far as "equipped":
- Twin 471 DD's
- Twin Koehler 20kw gens
- Naid Stabilizers
- 2400 gallons of fuel
- 400 gallons water
- 200 gallons waste
- Full electronics w/ Nobeltec PC Nav & Interphase PC View Forward Sonar, SSB, AIS, Radar, etc.
- 3 staterooms, 2 1/2 heads, workshop
- 13' Novurania RIB w/ F50
- A punchlist of continual "things to do"
- And a partridge in a pear tree....

Its not too often that I get jealous to the point that I disgust myself, but tonight is one of those rare occasions.

Welcome
