Default What The Hell Is This?

My computer is doing all sorts of weird crap today, and I keep seeing "waiting for http://myclock.info/fp/index.html... on the lower left hand corner of my screen. What the hell is that?

I don't recall ever seeing it before, but my computer has been locking up and doing all sorts of other stupid stuff. I've restarted it, turned it off, cussed it, slapped it, and it still keeps doing this crap with this message showing up.

You probably have some of program/spyware installed the stopped working for whatever reason.
CLick on START > Run. Type in msconfig
You'll get a System Configuration Utility dialog box. Click on the Startup tab.
Go down the list and see if you can see anything related to myclock. If you find it, uncheck it on the left and click OK on the bottom.
Also, consider running a spyware scan on your machine. Download and run Spybot. www.safer-networking.org

Good luck!

I knew it!!!!

I ran a malware scan and found three infections including a Trojan horse. Probably got that because I typed Lane Kiffin yesterday.

I've got AVG on this computer and am running a can now. I'll try the other suggestions as well. Thanks guys.

Tried that and didn't see anything remotely resembling "myclock". Somebody else suggested the Spybot thing, but when I click on the link, I get three choices of where to download this from. Does it matter which one I use?

Whatever this damn thing is, it stops me in the middle of typing something, locks me up for a short time, then goes away.

myclock is a world of warcraft thing isnt it? Do you have malwarebytes installed? If not, get it at malwarebytes.org, install it, and restart your computer in safe mode and run it.

Did the malware thing, but it didn't go away. I did a system restore back to Monday, and now it's gone. Should I do something else?... I mean besides not looking at sites linked into posts on The Sandbar.

Yes. You should pay me $5000 and the problem will go away.

download and run CCleaner. make sure it's CCLeaner and NOT PCCLeaner. run analyze first then clean. after that download Malwarebytes and run that.

Yep, three as a matter of fact.

Called the wife up one afternoon and told her I was sorry I'd be late coming home as I just found out I had a STD. She got real quiet, then I told her that meant Safe To Deliver. Been using that acronym ever since. For those of you who don't know, I'm in the safe business.
