That benz is amazing. Probably has a little more power than my 02 C240...
I love it how cars attained such fuel economy 25 years ago. Does any non hybrid/diesel/smart car car get 43mpg these days?
I remember my father had a 1988 Chevy Caprice with a 302 carbed V8. We drive to his summer home in VT from CT (300 miles) and he could make it there and back on 1 tank (24 gallons)! 4 people and loaded for 1 weeks vacation driving through the hill of VT and getting around 28 mpg.
His next car after that was a 1997 Ford Thunderbird with a 4.7l fuel injected V8. Much lighter, more aerodynamic car and he could barely get 24mpg.
