Default Downloading Music

Does anybody here download music? I use iTunes on occasion to download a song or two, but I have never really done it on a regular basis. I know of several subscription based sites, such as eMusic, and there are always the free illegal sites like limewire. Can anyone reccomend the best alternative?

I have been a subscriber to Napster for a couple of years. $7 a month, $60 a year and all of the family use it.

No problems and always a great selection of music.

If you are an AOL user you may get it free or cheaper.

Alternative to what?

Itunes works fine if you want to pay and they have what you want. Limewire works good too if you want to go that route.....

Yes.

But you must download to an Mp3 device, you cannot burn to a cd unless you buy the tracks (similar iTunes 99 cents per).

As for breadth of music - I have myself, a 22 year old girl, 20 year old boy and 15 year old girl and they all get whatever they want from Napster. The new stuff may take a while but it eventually gets there.

I think they have a 7 day free trial.

I known it used to be riddled with viruses, still true or not?

And is it still a file sharing application - i.e. illegal, or have they cleaned it up somehow?

I think it is still loaded with malware and adware and all of the other stuff that I don't understand. Would using a Mac help protect against this stuff?
