And if we start to chop off the hands of all of our common two bit thieves we can eliminate that type of crime also. Shoot drunken drivers at sunrise. The list goes on and on and on. What should we do with fish poachers?

Good point, because afterall, "raping five children and leaving one of them to die in the desert", is very similar to 'fish poaching'.

We have varied punishments for varied crimes in this country as well, right?

The U.S. could learn a lesson or two from this. Why do you think the Saudi crime rates are so low!!! As far as I am concerned, once you commit the crime and are convicted, you lose your rights. U.S. prisoners are treated better than some people trying to make a living!!
